Meet Victor Wong | Drummer for Livid
We had the good fortune of connecting with Victor Wong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victor, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Simply dedication and commitment. We’re always on the same page and if we have any disagreements, we try to overcome obstacles like a well-oiled machine. We try and alternate rehearsal locations and times mostly because the frontman of Livid lives an hour away.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started playing drums at a young age and immediately started playing at churches. It wasn’t easy at first since I’ve never had an actual teacher or mentor. I was never as confident with my drumming skills until recently. I went to the Army as a medic and after going through some of the worst times of my life, I decided I wanted to stick with drumming since I know I am a talented and creative percussionist. I met Gabriel and frank in April 2021 through a church friend/ close friend and ever since we started working on our craft. I am blessed to have found these guys.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would probably go to Keg south in Pinecrest for some miller lite
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My other two band members. And some friends I had lost while in the Army. I used to be in a band a buddy I had would help us set up gear, even come up for a few songs. I would also just shoutout the other guys I was in a cover band in while stationed in Egypt.
