We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I’m a reporter. I faithfully believe in the search for truth as a tool for success. Being the voice of those who do not have it, is the greatest reward at the end of the day. Knowing that you helped someone through a report to achieve something, or not to be evicted from their home, is to know that your work was successful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It makes me happy to know that with perseverance and believing in myself, nothing is impossible. When I arrived in the United States I thought that working in my career as a journalist would be very complicated, but with patience I managed to enter Hispanic television where I have been a reporter for America Tevé for more than 5 years. America Tevé is a local television in Miami and Fort Lauderdale that also has a signal in Puerto Rico and New York.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami has it all and that’s why I love living here. My favorite place to eat Sushi is Taikin in El Doral, the best desserts are from Fireman Derek’s, a delicious coffee like the ones made by grandmothers, at Cachitos Coffee and Bakery. To have a drink any place in Wynwood will always be good, of course the best hamburgers in the whole country are in Kush.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
What I am and where I am I owe to my family. first to my mother, I was born in Venezuela and because of the political, social and economic situation I emigrated to the United States with my husband in search of a better future. Starting from scratch will never be easy, but having the support of my mother, who from Venezuela applauds every achievement, and my husband, along with me, giving him encouragement to continue in pursuit of my goals, without a doubt, the journey becomes less dark.
