We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria T. Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Man! Entrepreneurship has taught me so much, probably more so than anything else in life. However, the most important lesson I’ve learned is knowing your path as an entrepreneur/the type you want to be, and that everything happens for a reason. Whether that is to forge your own path or follow a path already made. Entrepreneurship is already an unknown risk someone is taking. When you find yourself in a world with other entrepreneurs it can be hard to remember what your path is, or what you’re meant to accomplish. It took myself a minute to fully understand what type of entrepreneur I was meant to be. When I figured that out, it helped me understand my path my why, along with understanding entrepreneurship wasn’t about me (as far as being a creative), but bringing my skill to a city and individuals, that would help them shine; like they deserve.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
“Anything great, is never easy!” Or “it’s been right under your nose the whole time!” These words couldn’t be any more true. I started my journey pursuing fashion, launching my first collection called Uniquely Victoria back in 2021; not knowing anything and knowing few in the industry I went after fashion. Though, I do not consider myself a fashion designer, this is where my understanding of what I was meant to do started, and my natural skills began to emerge. As I began networking and pushing the collection, which wasn’t moving (sales wise) no matter what I did. This required me to one, get creative and two, reframe my mindset. It was about 5 months in while promoting Uniquely Victoria that I met individuals who awakened the media bug within me. I decided to create my own YouTube Series with Uniquely Victoria called The Juice: Rise and Shine, where I would interview other unstoppable minority women in entrepreneurship.

Through my efforts of networking, interviewing or more of event attending (fashion shows), the media/writing and PR started to emerge continuously vs being a “fashion designer”. These skills started to take over as clients started to gravitate needing help with PR, all the while the knowledge of what I gained with Uniquely Victoria helped. As I worked to get my clients visibility, I had this urge and longing to help them create their own YouTube Series (in que TV creation/producing).

The whole time I didn’t take that longing or urge seriously as I thought it was apart of just doing PR. So, I continued helping clients with PR, writing articles for magazines and publishing my first book, a children’s novel called: The Lively Keyyz and the Hullabadula. But that urge never went away it only increased. The more event attending I did, I continuously met purpose driven individuals and people in the film industry. This is where I began to realize I had a purpose by the means of TV creation and producing. I must also acknowledge it was one of my PR clients who also told me “you are going to create, write and produce TV!” that really sealed the deal.

With that, I am in pre-productions of two shows that I am producing that will be airing in 2024.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Miami has so many amazing spots, I truly love this city! Just recently I took my little sister who was visiting to Bali Lounge in Hollywood, FL that has cool vibes and intimate settings. My favorite spot is Wynwood for all of it’s creativity, and I always take individuals to explore Miami Beach and downtown Miami.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to the individuals who saw my gift, even when I couldn’t. First, would be Corhinn Brunot who saw my gift of writing and interviewing. She allowed me to develop & master my skills. Second, would be Tayo Ishola who saw my gift of TV creation & producing and believes in me. Third, would be Keisha “WriteNow” Allen for the love and encouragement of what she sees in me, and helps me to keep going.

There are many, many more but these individuals specifically allowed for my talents & gifts to shine.
