We had the good fortune of connecting with Vilmaliz Bosque and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vilmaliz, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
There are several things I can think of but if I had to pick one, I would say not waiting to be perfect to go for it. It’s better to just get started with something and perfect along the process. When I started my business, I didn’t know anything about building a business or filming on-demand workouts. I listened to every business and marketing podcast I came across, I signed up for courses, I taught myself how to build a website, build a mailing list, sales, etc. Some of my first videos I ever launched were pretty bad. My camera teaching skills were not great and I knew that but I still took the risk and put them out there because I knew my understanding of the body and method were unique and gave results. I decided to embrace being vulnerable rather than running from it.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business — VB METHOD is a core focused practice that combines pilates sculpting precision and traditional strength movements.
The workouts are a translation of the reformer on the mat + traditional strength techniques. We focus on muscle isolation and stabilization in order to activate, strengthen, and tone every muscle in your body.
After years of experimenting with different forms of movement, I discovered that overdoing one type of workout method can lead to imbalance, put stress on our body, or simply not give results.
This is one of the reasons I started mixing Pilates, weights, and cardio back in 2018 and why I created VB METHOD. Mixing these is not just what has proven to work best for my body, but also for the 1000s of women I’ve had the honor to train and those who practice my method.
I’ve spend more than 10 years training and learning to create a uniquely effective and balanced regimen.
What I see most frequently from clients is that they’ve been working out regularly for months or years – yet seeing little to no results! The key difference is training and technique. On all of my workouts, I guide the practitioner through each flow while keeping focus on executing proper form & understanding technique. That’s what really sets my method apart!
My mission is to give women a sustainable option for pursuing health and fitness that allows them to achieve physical transformation by simply reaching their own bodies’ potential. My method is for anyone looking to get stronger, visibly defined, and reach a new level of fitness.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love a run along the Miami Beach board walk. Some of my go-to restaurants are Planta(plant based), Carbone(great Italian), Soho House(hang by the pool, work, and do lunch there), and Cecconi’s octopus, pasta, and tiramisu.
I also love Porto Sagua. It’s a mom and pop Cuban spot I”ve been going to since my early 20s. It’s not fancy but they have the best cuban sandwiches in the beach. Takes me right home to Puerto Rico.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so any wonderful people who have been part of the process but regardless of the multiple mentors I’ve had, everything that I have achieved so far would not have been possible without the unconditional support and help of my fiance, Leer Gold. He films my videos, edits them, takes care of product shipment, and reminds me of my strengths when I’m in doubt.
Other incredible mentors I’ve had along the way are Vimla Gupta-Black, Hilary Coles, & Riley Kinsworthy.
