We had the good fortune of connecting with Virgi Dart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Virgi, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Everything is about PERSPECTIVE. You never know who is being inspired by your words, your music, your art and even though sometimes you are blinded about how your process is going, what people think/expect about you, everything is about perspective. It’s so good to stop for two seconds and reflect on all the things you’ve achieved. They might be just few steps from the staring line and maybe there’s a long way still ahead of you but those steps took you to where you are now and you are further than being on the starting line so cherish the process and be thankful for what you’ve done!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a professional singer, recording artist and performer from Cali, Colombia. I’ve been in the music industry for over 10 years performing at different bars, hotels, restaurants in my hometown and recently moved to the USA where the big steps have happened on what I envisioned for my music career. I just released my first album and I am finally starting my dream: being a solo artist, leaving the “covers world” and perform my own music, my own songs. It’s been a beautiful journey where every single stage has taught me something, where I’ve meet incredible people along the way and shared my voice with many others. I think that love is the energy that moves this world and that’s what I want to share, LOVE. My songs are stories about my life, my friend’s lives and I want them to be the soundtrack for many others. We all have similar life stories and things that happen in certain moments of our journey and I want to be the one who puts the music to those.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love walking, being close to nature and of course I love to eat! So I would definitely take my friends for a long walk because I feel that’s the best way to get to know a city, to feel the vibe, the culture. Then, hit the most authentic spot we can find to have some food! I prefer relaxed and chill places where you can get to taste new flavors instead of waiting in lines to go to the busiest, fanciest or the most popular place in town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is to my family. Not everybody has the privilege of growing up having the support of your family in this career and I want to thank them. Also, my life partner, my husband that has been so understanding, supportive and loving through my process. It’s a very unique career where you work so much, have late nights, stand in the spotlight on many stages, must travel and sacrifice so many things and to have that significant other that respects, admires and love what you do is a profound quality that not everybody can find.
