Meet Vittoria Zaza | Architect, Interior Designer & Founder of Sapori.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vittoria Zaza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vittoria, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It all started very spontaneously. I wasn’t even thinking of starting a business at the time. One night, I brought a charcuterie board to a dinner party, and a friend asked me if I sold them. That simple question planted the seed for what eventually became Sapori. From there, I started crafting the brand, thinking about the ingredients, how to pair them, and how to tell a story through each board. In a way, it all came naturally. My parents owned a traditional Italian Restaurant in Venezuela for nearly 60 years, and I was born and raised in the middle of it all, surrounded by food, recipes and people. Sapori is a continuation of the legacy. It’s a way for me to bring together tradition, creativity, and flavor in something beautiful and personal.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an architect and Interior Designer, I’ve always been drawn to aesthetics, harmony, and the art of composition, whether it’s in a space or on a plate. Sapori was born from this bend of creativity and tradition,
What sets me apart is that every board I create is unique and personalized, I use mostly Italian ingredients, carefully selected for quality and authenticity. Many of the items I serve are homemade, like chocolate covered or stuffed dates, marinated goat cheese, and a variety of antipasti. Every detail is intentional. It’s about creating beauty that you can taste and share.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I moved to a new country, had to stat from zero, and took a leap of faith into something I never planned, but that now feels deeply aligned with who I am.
What I want the world to know about me is that I didn’t leave architecture behind, I brought it with me,. The way I balance colors, textures, and flavors on a board is the same way I once designed spaces: with thought, precision and emotion. As they say, “we eat with our eyes first”. This is still design, it just taste better.
Sapori is more than food, It’s about slowing down, appreciating beauty in simplicity, and creating experiences that connect us.
That’s the heart of everything that I do!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit Miami for a week, I’d make sure she experienced both the charm and the flavor of the city, beyond the typical tourist trail
We’d start the day in Coral Gables with a cuban coffee at Versailles or Cafe Demetrio, and maybe spend some time walking through Miracle Mile. On Sunday, we’d stop by the Coconut Grove Farmers Market, a local favorite for fresh fruit, juices, and a vibrant community vibe! For lunch, I would take her to La Camaronera, a very casual spot but with some of the best seafood in the city, fresh, simple and delicious. If we’re in the mood for something more Mediterranean, Mandolin Aegean Bistro is always a favorite. For Italian dinner, Zucca in Coral Gables, is elegant and consistently excellent.
We will definitely visit Vizcaya Gardens: The Pérez Art Museum, and enjoy a peaceful beach afternoon at Ket Biscayne. For sunset, South Pointe Park Pier is the perfect spot, followed by dinner at LPM Miami for a chic, vibrant experience.
And of course, no visit would be complete without a relaxed evening at home: with a charcuterie board, a glass of wine and a home made Crostata!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shoutout goes to my parents. They owned an Italian Restaurant in Venezuela called Trattoria da Lino. Their dedication, love for tradition, and passion for quality shaped my values and continue to inspire everything I do with Sapori. This journey wouldn’t exist without the legacy they built and the example they gave me.
