We had the good fortune of connecting with Walter “JRtheCEO” Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Walter “JRtheCEO”, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lessons my business has taught me is prioritization and networking. Working in the Entertainment Industry, you realize that work never stops and if you don’t prioritize your tasks you will be overwhelmed and potentially overworked. Networking is of the utmost importance, because it allows you to meet various people, build relationships, and leads to doors opening. As a result of networking I’ve been placed into important rooms and meetings that I might have otherwise never been invited to.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been working consistently in the music industry since 2006. During this time, I’ve been able to establish myself as a music producer, mix engineer, and songwriter. The thing that sets my business apart from others is my musical acumen. I play multiple instruments and have studied music at the London School of Music. This allows me to hear things in a different perspective than most individuals within the industry. When it comes to lessons that I’ve learned along the way, one important one is to be a person of your word. I pride myself on making sure that I do exactly what I tell people I’m going to do. As a result of this people know that I am responsible, dependable, and accountable. The thing that I want the world to know about me and my brand is that if you are looking for the next wave of sound, or top-notch quality production or engineering then we should be your number one choice.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I would have to make sure that we visit Wynwood, Hard Rock Hotel, and probably take a day cruise to the Bahamas.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my family for their unyielding support in my endeavors. Without their support, I would not have the freedom to move around and work as I do.
