We had the good fortune of connecting with Whatatamtam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Whatatamtam, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor for my success and the success of my brand is a result of determination to use the little resources available and network with associates, friends and family to capitalize on exposing my talent via different platforms, from competitions, LIVE performances, social media content building, whilst incorporating dancing in my presentation.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am Whatatamtam aka “Sweet Sweet Water” recording artiste. I am a reggae/dancehall artiste open to singing other genres of music such as Jazz, hip hop, RnB, alternative, pop and Rock n roll music. I have networked with some producers in Jamaica to release my first song on February 14, 2022 called “Island Girl” to my newest song called “Yellow Yellow” released 6 months ago in May 2023. I have achieved most of my success with various competitions entered, I used these competitions to sharpen my talent, build my network and to get exposure. The most impressive competition I have enjoyed is @maestro_tvshow (reality tv series for Jamaican artistes) broadcasted on @ceentv. I earned top 5 spot out of 21 competitors. I have also made a name for myself being “Hostess with the mostest”. I have booked myself a consistent gig for a LIVE performance show every Saturday
called Reggae @pontopgrill which

streamed via Facebook live and reposted on YouTube. To view each episode, search for Pontop seafood bar and grill on Facebook. Professionally, I aim to be consistent and reliable on the entertainment scene to provide positive conscious “World” music. I am a V.I.B.E that means Very Intelligent Being Entertaining …always. #vibesbuck🤟…as @originalkoffee says Low di “L” and take the “W” for @whatatamtam. I represent proudly the culture of Jamaica in the best way possible. Empowering humanity to choose “Family” as the way forward.

I am proud to mention Earl “Chinna” Smith (Bob Marley legendary guitarist) that toured the world over has assisted me with musical inspiration with Binghistra movement, Mr Joseph “Blacks” Wallace, Jah Bless and Studio Jah Bless to working on many songs released. I would also like to that Kevin Salmon aka SupaNova from Dubschool at @dubwisecafe and @gm_cubanbar located 82 Lady Musgrave road for providing a space to hone our talent and perform for patrons charge free.
I would also like to thank my spiritual sister Sara aka Sage for vocal training/warm-ups before Dubschool and Queen Soul aka Patrice from IOKI productions for exceptional vocal training tips and meditation.
Presently I am doing projects with Whiteblackz, Zihking, Prosonic alongside my family StillVilln, Spacekat, Aurra Soul, Tallawa, WhyyJaii and El Davino. I have more Far Future projects on the way. I am active with no challenges faced.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For my musical journey, I will definitely give credit and recognition to Earl “Chinna” Smith- Bob Marley’s legendary guitarist and the Binghistra movement from St. Andrew park in Kingston, Jamaica. The musicality involves connecting to the vibrations of mystical or spiritual vibrations of our ancestors with chants, focus and meditation. I will also like to recognize studio Jah Bless, engineer- Joseph ” Blacks” Wallace from Papine located in St. Andrew, Jamaica. They are the first production team, I worked with and experimented with my unique roots sound.
Dubschool, a tribe of connected artistes that encourages reggae and Dancehall, however mostly reggae as conscious soul music to uplift the individuals. I got to perform many times entertaining patrons of Dubwise cafe located at 82 Lady Musgrave road in Kingston. Dubschool is spearheaded by Kevin Salmon aka SupaNova. He is Kabaka Pyramid’s brother and assisted in his brother career to earn his Grammy for Reggae music.
I am working on new material with Whiteblackz production which is overseas,
alongside Zihking, Prosonic, Stillvilln, Spacekat, Sage, Aurra Soul, Tallawa.,
Sky (producer) representing Hussehold muszikk, Boomdrawoffsix and delagrooveja are dope producers for future projects.

I am eternally grateful for all my musical alignment and have more people to meet and network with soon. These are influences for my vibe as I grow my musicality to be an established Reggae/Dancehall artiste that’s open to singing different genres of music such as Jazz, RnB, Alternative and Rock n Roll music.
