We had the good fortune of connecting with William Laurel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi William, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I’m the type of person that when I see risk I juts take it. Thinking outside the box and alway pushing to get out of my conford zone. Those categorize me pretty well.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have to mention that I’m from Cuba originally, and the life of an inmigrant is not always easy. I had to start all over again, with a different language that I had to learn. I come from a family of hairstylist and I learnt at a really young age. That has given me some advantage. The must important part is knowing your worth and staying grounded. This is an industry that serves and makes people happy. That is what I enjoy the most.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think you can’t go wrong with showing Miami Beach, plenty of great restaurants and places to visit. And a little more inland then I’m a fan of Wynwood and it art.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
That will be Salon Ethos Miami for the opportunity of being one of their team, and for trusting me when I had just got to Miami and none knew what I do.
