We had the good fortune of connecting with Willie Noveck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Willie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
When I got started in law school admissions I was working for a large company and not everyone saw results. When I would go to my superiors and explain that what we were doing was not working for certain people they would say “you can’t help everyone.” I took the opposite approach with my own business. I never ever ever give up on a client no matter how much they are struggling.

This helped my reputation but what it really did was help me get amazing because it forced me to constantly get better.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My approach to test prep is pretty different from the rest of the field. Most test prep “experts” focus on their area of expertise — the test. The issue is that while the test stays the same, every person approaches it differently. My approach is always focused on what the clients is doing, rather than just the test as an abstract entity. That allows me to help people improve in a way that others can’t.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Coffee Shops: RIP to All Day which had the best vibes but closed in 2023. With it gone Suite Habana in Wynwood has the best vibes, Puroast has good vibes and excellent cookies. Imperial Moto because last time I was there they had an 80s Porsche in the middle of the coffeeshop.

Food: Grand Central is EXCELLENT fine dining, Riconcino Latino Mixto is incredible value, Square Pie City brings the best pizza city (Detroit) to Miami. Blue Collar is pretty good too. Amara at Paraiso has good food but an even better view.

Bars: I love Union Beer Store (any bar dedicated to 90s wrestling gets my heart) and Thank You Miami (same but for video games) but then there’s also Mike’s @ Venetia, which is the only bar I have ever seen in the middle of an apartment complex. Mac’s Club Deuce is the second best diver bar in the city (Jada Cole’s is the first) and in terms of decor, it’s hard to beat the Sylvester.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes — SoFlo Noma (South Florida chapter of the National Association of Minority Architects). 10 years ago there were only 300 black female architects IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY (out of 20 million black female americans). NoMa and especially the South Florida chapter is consistently doing incredible work to increase that number and I definitely want to shout them out.
