We had the good fortune of connecting with Winston Jackson Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Winston, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I can tell you that taking risks can be an important aspect of life and can lead to new opportunities and experiences. It is important to carefully consider the potential risks and rewards of a particular action before deciding to take a risk. In some cases, taking a calculated risk can lead to great rewards, while in other cases it may not pan out as hoped. It is also important to be aware of and manage the potential consequences of taking a risk. I beleive in calculated risk as I am constantly looking at the R/R (risk to reward ratio) of my actions. However one thing that I do know for sure is if you do not take any risk on yourself, you can guarantee little to no growth. Where I am today has been a result of all the risks that I have taken throughout my life. My small business, my masters program, the military, etc..

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a small business owner, cybersecurity enthusiast, and 2LT in the United States Army, but I am also a caribbean influencer who uses my passion for caribbean culture and dancing to spread the message of my all natural caribbean beverage company, JackoJuice LLC.

I am proud of the fact that my company is able to provide all natural, healthy beverages to our customers while also promoting and celebrating caribbean culture. I am also excited about the opportunity to use my platform to not only promote my business, but to also educate and inspire others about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and embracing cultural diversity.

Getting to where I am today professionally was not always easy. As a small business owner, I faced many challenges such as securing funding and building a strong team. However, I was able to overcome these challenges through hard work, perseverance, and seeking help and guidance from those around me.

Along the way, I have learned the importance of being resilient and adaptable in the face of challenges, as well as the value of seeking out resources and support when needed.

I want the world to know that JackoJuice LLC is more than just a business, it is a celebration of caribbean culture and a commitment to providing healthy, all natural beverages to our customers. I am proud of the journey that has brought me to where I am today, and I am excited to continue to grow and evolve as a business owner and influencer.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here is a sample itinerary for a week long trip, I would definetly want them to come during Miami Carnival, which happens Columbus Day weekend and is the biggest caribbean celebration in South Florida.

Day 1:
Arrive in South Florida and check into our hotel in downtown Miami
Head to Little Haiti to check out some of the amazing art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants in the area
In the evening, visit a local reggae club to listen to some live music and dance the night away

Day 2:

Spend the day exploring the vibrant Wynwood Arts District, checking out the street art, galleries, and hipster bars and restaurants
In the evening, attend a jamaican food and music festival at Bayfront Park to taste some authentic jamaican cuisine and enjoy live reggae and dancehall music

Day 3:

Head to South Beach to soak up the sun and relax on the sandy beaches
In the afternoon, visit the Miami Beach Edition hotel to check out the rooftop pool and bar, and enjoy some delicious cocktails and panoramic views of the city

Day 4:

Drive down to Key West to experience the laid-back, island vibe of the Florida Keys
Spend the day snorkeling, fishing, and exploring the charming streets and shops of Key West

Day 5:

Return to Miami pick up our costumes for playing mas, and then head to probably head to the beach to make some dancing content and run some dominoes, and loodi and just get ready for jouvert (paint and powder fete) in the morning.

Day 6:
Wake up early morning to head to Miami Jouvert for the first half of the day. Come back eat some food at local spot and knock out before a night cooler fete.

Day 7:
This would
Be carnival Sunday, early wake up, speakers playing loud as we would be tired from getting in late last night. Meet up at a friends place and we all get ready to touch the road and play mas. Unlimited fun, vibes, and just an overall good time listening to sweet soca and dancehall music (depending on the band truck) from early morning to almost midnight..
