We had the good fortune of connecting with Xavier Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Xavier, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was to do something that will help change people lives and me being able to have a fulfillment of happiest about it. Not only that but I would be able to be my own boss, make my own decisions, and most importantly invest time into myself. I’ve been in the sales and marketing industry for over 15 years providing some type of services with helping others. Some of those jobs were fun, but I always find myself sitting back at my desk sad or upset wondering why I am there and me knowing there is something out there I can be doing that will make myself and others happy. So when starting my business I had to think about the industry I wanted to be in, how I would change lives and if it can be a business I can pass on to my children. Once I got back into the gym, started to eat healthier, and love the results I’ve got, it was a no brainer for me to help others being able to feel the same way.

Word to mouth/networking, being consistent, and a follow up is how I got here today. Working in the marketing and sales industry for so many years tough me how to speak to people and always follow up. I am a outgoing person so putting the ground work in to grow my business was the fun part for me.

Starting a business is never easy. It’s the fear of the unknown. You don’t know how things will turn out, you don’ t know who will be your client, you don’t know if the people will like what you offering, and most scary part is that you don’t know when your next dollar will come to your account to provide for you and your family. The key is to not give up and to keep pushing forward. I think what allow me to overcome challenges is always being positive about ever situation. Keeping a positive mindset and energy is what helped me a lot. Setting a goal and having tunnel vision is what’s important as well to overcome challenges. As long as you don’t lose that vision your will achieve your goals.

I’ve learn to not pay attention to other people or companies in the same industry as you. It can be a distraction because that company or person can be doing better than you at the moment. By paying attention to that can really through you off. Now on the flip side, if you are a strong minded person, you can use it as motivation as well to let you know that what you are doing will work out. It all depends on who you are and how strong minded you are.

I want the world to know that we are on the way to accomplish major things and

I want the world to be apart of what Xcyte Fitness has going on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A lot has changed in South Florida to were I do not go out as much as I use to. So let’s say if this was 5-8 years ago I would do the following for my friend week long trip. One of the nights I would call up friends and family and we will have a cards night at my mom place. Being with close friends and family is always a great vibe. Friday we would go to the Hard Rock and be in VIP at Opium Night club. My friend was a promoter there and I spent every Friday night for years there lol. Saturday if there was an event happening (which I would tell my friend to come down for the event), we would go to a Shakers Group party. Its a grown, sexy and fun vibe. I was a part of Shakers Group and those were some great times. Sunday we would chill out at Nikki Beach, great food and scenery. Monday we will hit KOD (heck why not lol)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people I would like to shoutout so I will keep it short and simple (I think lol). First I would like to shoutout my friends that when I mentioned this business venture I had interest to pursue, they encourage me to go for it and they had my back and came to the table with advice. The next person I would like to shoutout is my business manager Ceiffawn (Reality of Dreams), she is defiantly one of the best at what she do, and I am very happy to have her apart of this journey. I would like to also shoutout two of my line brothers, Castro and Steve. When me and Steve were working out he was the person that haze me and told me I should start my own business. It was a thought in my mind for months before that workout but the word of encouragement and motivation he gave me, made me sit down at my computer to start doing research, sign up for my certification, and apply for my LLC. Castro is my line brother that saw this path for me before I even saw it. He told me years ago that I should be a personal trainer and how its a good industry to be in, plus I had the look as a personal trainer. He is actual the first person that I created a workout program and suggested nutrition plan for and got amazing results. His results let me know that I can do this. My next shoutout will be my past, current and future clients. I can think them enough for believing in me to help them reach their fitness goals. The clients I had and have are amazing and I have not yet had a bad client. Last but not least, this special and Most Important Shoutout goes to my wife D’Andra Bryant. Being in a relationship with a small business owner is not easy for any significant other, especially when it comes to the finances. D’Andra has held down the house hold for our family taking on the bulk of a lot of things. She has always been supportive of me making this decision, even though I am sure she would have preferred me to get a job with a study paycheck. She has been there for me though the days and nights of difficult and stressful times. I can’t Thank her enough for her support and for her being My Rib.
