We had the good fortune of connecting with Yady Ochoa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yady, how do you think about risk?
I quit my job at MAC Cosmetics literally cold turkey. I decided that day I would no longer ask permission to be off on my son’s birthday nor would I fear being fired if I had to call out because life happened. That gave me the drive I needed to venture and that was risk-taking, I regret it not one bit! Advice for those reading “risk it for the Bourbon biscuit” haha.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Although I can create or recreate any look desired by the client, I love it when my Art is a mix of my client’s request whilst still being true to my style. I love natural beauty and my aim is to enhance, not to completely change the client to the point she isn’t recognized by her loved ones. A luxurious glowing off the runway look is my aim.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I definitely enjoy a true glamorous “Miami style” scenery and less is more except when is coffee, so I would start with a stop at DIOR Café after that the beach is a must! I live in Sunny isles, the White sands and clear waters as my next door neighbor. I enjoy Art so the notorious Wynwood walls walk can’t be bypassed! I also recommend the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, brunch or dinner at Casa Faena. A walk, jug or bicycle ride around South Pointe park. There is something for everyone here in Miami.
