We had the good fortune of connecting with YaNique Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi YaNique, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Crafting makes me happy, No matter what i put my mind to when i craft im thats my time to shine. I started crafting with my mom in the 6th grade . My mom taught how make multiple iteams such as tutu’s , custom shoes , pillow cases ,shirts and much more .

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my clothing businness my freshman year in high . My first Customer was of my classmates I took her jacket home and pressed her instagram name on the back iust for fun. When i fisrt started my custom clothing business i would make custom game day shirt for me and mom to wear to my sisters basket ball games and everyone would ask who made those shirt . My next big gig was my family reuion . Fast my sophomore of high school i started learning how to make shirt and my work was amazing . I started to get orders here and there and i even made my litttle sister baksetball team practice and game jerseys . My junior year covid hit and we were all out on virtural schooling and thats when i started to educate my self on custom clothing . My senior Covid Was still in effect and my mom gave me the idea to wear custom shirts that i made to express how we alll felt about covid. Before i Knew Everyone was purchasing my custom clothing not only was i making shirt i aslo started to sellls treats to my class mates i became the girl who sold everything from treats to custom hoodies and much more .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Ouuuu i loveeeee foood lol. But my favorite food spot would definetly have to be long horn. After long horn we would defintely visit Kamp South They have the best day parties and lets not forget the drinks .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my on going supportive friends & family , even the unknown social media crowd the stands behind my brand everyday i see you guys & i love you guys!!!

I would also like to give a specail shout out my Auntie Lotoya for giving me that extraa push when time were rough .

I also would like to thank my mother & my bounus dad for investing in my passion .
