Meet Yelany de Varona | Co-Founder and COO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yelany de Varona and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yelany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I travelled to Europe, I would always see these cool vintage vehicles with an amazing aesthetic, but I could never find them here in Miami. Whenever I reached out to companies here I couldn’t find what I was looking for and I think Miami is the perfect place for this aesthetic, the cars capabilities and the experience you get from driving them.
I have always wanted to build a great product like we have at Shoreline when I have worked for other companies, but I have always been challenged with companies being obsessed with making money over customer experience, or the specific design of the product being a lower priority than scaling to a massive level of profitability.
So I decided the best thing to do was to do this with some friends and build Shoreline Vehicle Design.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our vision for Shoreline Vehicle Design was concieved to offer, classic, timeless vehicles that can be used every day.
We wanted to create a brand that had a sense of heritage and long standing value. We are fascinated by the original craftsmanship of these vintage vehicles and wanted to create a brand that celebrated that, as well as incorporating modern comforts. We give customers the classic design, fused with the modern expectations of vehicles today.
The original aesthetic, together with our finishing touches, turn heads wherever they go, they make our customers smile and they make Miami look on with excitement. It gives us reassurance in what we are building; a resilient, luxury, lifestyle brand.
It hasn’t been an easy road, but with perseverance, endless hours of research and execution, together with the right partners; we have built a company, and a product that we are proud of.
We stand by our values as people, and as a company, we are building vehicles that are competitive on quality, luxury and aesthetic, but will continue to be leading on price and customer satisfaction. At Shoreline we are not just about making money, we are building products that our people and our customers are proud to own.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many special things to do in Miami, here is my take on what I would try to fit into one week. From the airport I’d go grab a cafecito and Cuban sandwich at Tinta y Café, while we plan the next few days. Start with a day at the Standard spa (local tip: buy a spa treatment to get access to the pool and amenities). Take their morning yoga class, spend the afternoon at the pool, get an early evening massage, and enjoy the Hamam, you’re now ready for the Miami nightlife scene.
Stop by Dantes HiFi for some amazing sounds and cocktails, make a dinner reservation for the best Italian in Miami at Macchialina, spend an afternoon on a boat enjoying the water, and party at the sandbar. Later on, you can keep the party going at Space night club until the early morning, after that catch breakfast at ‘All days’ for a bit of a detox.
While in Miami, you have to try and catch a Heat game (schedule permitting), recap the late nights with some sushi from Wabi Sabi and then head over to Faena for some live music and chic scene.
For more live music, visit The Cleat in Key Biscayne while the sun sets on the bay. Get up early for some Legion Park Farmers Market goodies to end the week.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It s difficult for me to call out a single person for encouragement, credit or recognition. I have always been influenced by Miami’s vibrant blend of cultures. Growing up here, I truly love Miami and its unique blend of personalities. I’m blessed to have a large group of supportive friends and family, they have always been my strongest supporters and encourage me everyday to push myself. Having a strong support system of loved ones and a loving community is what I owe my success to.
Witnessing my family work hard to be successful, in a new country, instilled a strong work ethic, tenacity and will to win that makes me proud of my history, but also shows the values and opportunities we have in Miami as a first generation American.
I shoutout my family and friends who without knowing have taught me many lessons in life when it comes to success specifically if I had to call out some special people; I thank my mom who brought me up successfully as a single mother, my husband who always supports my dreams and goals, and my business partner Alex who supports me on this journey at Shoreline.
