We had the good fortune of connecting with Yev and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yev, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
What a great question to reflect on.

Definitely staying truthful/aligned with my authentic self, not settling, staying disciplined, and staying extremely organized.

I strive for efficiency in every aspect of my life. Once you find/create your system and you can stay organized, life becomes much smoother.

Also, practicing how to pivot when life smacks you in the face. Don’t take hardships so personal. It’s all about moving forward and staying flexible.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I come from a Fine Dining Hospitality background — I have 7 years of experience within the profession. Working in Hospitality really molded me into the person I am today. I started working at age 16.

My practices and knowledge are forever engrained within me. I have a true love and a deep respect for the Hospitality life. It really brought out the love I have for hosting experiences, bonding over incredible food, delicious drinks, living in the present moment, and really connecting with loved ones. It brought out my love for nurturing others and really made to realize that one of my biggest strengths is my attention to detail. It brings me great pleasure to think of every micro detail I can. My goal with hosting experiences is to make sure every single person is extremely comfortable, happy, and safe within the setting.

I learned not only how to multitask — but to multitask gracefully.
I made it a personal mission to learn from the experts within my community when it comes to building and executing a successful operation. This is why I love business so much.

One of the biggest gratitudes I have for my time in Hospitality is that my experience was very gradual. I was able to really learn the ins and outs of the restaurant business on first a “mom + pop” scale — where I worked 4 years at a local Thai + Japanese Restaurant in Sunny Isles. Then I moved on to working at Makoto for 2 years and then transitioned to being a part of the opening team for a Michelin Star Chef, working at The Surf Club by Thomas Keller at The Four Seasons in Surfside.

I really had the opportunity to absorb so much and I made it a personal mission to stand up for myself, move my ego to the side, and ask as many questions as I can.

Getting to where I am today was definitely not easy, it was an entire journey in itself. March 2020 of course changed life forever (both mine and yours.) At the start of it all, I committed to my overdue exit and decided to leave Hospitality life officially.

Once I really made that commitment it was time to go all-in on myself. That is when I committed to my authentic self and really went full force as a Creative Director.

My favorite part about being a CD is that I don’t have to separate Business and Creativity, it is intertwined with one another and I get to really explore both.

This is going to be an incredible year, that Post Pandemic freedom + energy is so special. I am currently looking for The Yev Commercial space where I will bring all of my creative visions + business adventures to life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely start at the beach – hopefully, the weather blesses us and we end up going on a day when it’s Green Flag (low tides.) I would bring my green umbrella, yellow beach blanket, my speaker, and a cooler filled with fresh fruit and drinks. We would spend all day floating in the water, catching up on life, melting in the sand, and watching the sunset.

After freshening up, I would invite my friend to come to eat at Lemongrass Hot Pot in Hollywood for an all-you-can-eat sensational build your own Asian soup.

On Saturday we would carpool and go to 420 yoga at Space Park, I’d make sure to arrive by max 3:50pm so we have more than enough time to park, get settled, say hello to friends, and unwind. After our hour and a half yoga class/meditation, we would continue our time together and grab refreshments at Heartland while we listen to live music and enjoy our time intimately under the twinkly lights.

For Sunday, we would spend our morning at Panthers Coffee, go to Coconut Grove Farmers Market and then go for a really beautiful long walk and get lost in the beautiful corners of Coconut Grove.

During the remainder of my friend’s visit, we would make sure to spend time and boogie at Terras, Space Miami, The Eagle Room, and/or go support at other venues that my friends are DJing at.

We’d probably squeeze in a picnic, a beach walk, and a sunset happy hour at Etaru.

There’s honestly so much we can do, but we’ll most likely play by ear and aim to spend most of our time outdoors.

Id love to treat my friend to a Pilates Class at Solid Core as well for an INCREDIBLE and fulfilling workout.

And if we’re super great on time, we’d squeeze in a photoshoot together 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I strongly believe in #ThePowerOfCommunity — I have built and cultivated so many special relationships in Miami. I have everyone around me to thank.
