We had the good fortune of connecting with Yohan Rodrigani Designer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yohan Rodrigani, how do you think about risk?

To me risk is simply another step in the process. It is as necessary to business as jet fuel is to a plane with plans of eventually taking off. However, it is important to do your due diligence to minimize loss, especially at the beginning when most startups have less resources and capital. Without risk I would have never placed my first order for the materials I needed to make my first bracelet back in 2011, or quit my 9-5, or traveled overseas with hopes of finding the best luxury leather goods manufacturers in the world to produce our first leather collection. Risk has not only paved the way to some of my most extraordinary achievements, but it has also been a part of my everyday life. I take risk while designing, while choosing a construction method for a specific project, and even when selecting a new theme for our next collection. Risk is in every second of living, yet many times we tend to associate risk with only the possibility of losing money. For me personally, the times I have taken risk and ended up with a financial loss, I have gained extraordinary wisdom and knowledge. So maybe, just maybe, there is no such thing as bad or good risk, but it is our courage to create our own perspective that defines the latter. At the end of the day there are only opportunities, which we may choose to explore and maximize on or not.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Yohan Rodrigani is a boutique luxury brand, based in Miami, Florida. We specialize in fine jewelry, although this year we will be entering the leather goods sector, introducing our first luxury leather collection of handbags and small accessories. We are known for our limited-edition art inspired pieces, as well as our bespoke services, catering principally to athletes and celebrities. Our goal is to create pieces with meaning. Every piece has a story or represents something greater than its value in precious stones or metal. I would say we specialize in creating an emotional connection between the jewelry piece and the wearer. Our pieces speak to our collectors and they love it. Out of all things I’m most proud of are the relationships we’ve built at every level – from our suppliers to our associates, to our collectors. We have forged relationships that go far beyond a sale or purchase. Throughout this journey we have seen how premium brands have been disguised as luxury, so I have made it my mission to grow our brand while following the rules that a true luxury brand should go by, creating goods with absolute passion and paying attention to every detail, in every step of the process, without cutting corners. True luxury is extravagant, elegant, and timeless. From the designing or sketching, to the muslin patterns, and all the way down to the packaging; everything is meticulously looked at and planned for.

The road to the success has been amazing but far from perfect. Any entrepreneur could agree that the road to success always comes with bumps and hurdles. It all comes down to knowledge. I did not go to school for this, so my learning curve was a lot tougher and rougher. I had to read lots of books, participate in seminars, and travel to as many trade shows as possible. Like I have said before, if you do not have the knowledge, you do not know what to expect and if you do not know what to expect in any business, you are roadkill to the vultures. It is safe to say we have all learned great lessons from our mistakes. The secret is to never give up; no matter what happens, keep working. The harder you work the smoother the road gets.

We are excited for the future of Rodrigani. Since inception of the brand, my team and I have worked hard for the things you will see happening in 2021 and beyond. In the coming months we will be expanding both our men and women’s lines, launching new art inspired pieces, and of course, the main event will be the launch of our leather goods collection.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So I would not call this a trip to Miami, I’d call it a few days in the life of Rodrigani. That means, quick coffee in the morning at True Baristas or a Cuban breakfast (Cafe con Leche and Tostadas) at Versailles. Throughout the day, we will be designing or manufacturing the next bespoke piece for a ballplayer or artist. And that also entails, stopping by our Diamond dealer to source stones. Later afternoon or evening, we will catch up with our clients – Henry or Oscar will have a table set aside for us at Café Prima Pasta. The week will consist of many creative meetings, projects, and ventures. Nevertheless, it will be with Miami’s greatest people – That I can guarantee!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to Onix Dobarganes, my partner in life and business. She is one of the main pillars of this brand and responsible for many of our achievements. Also, to my collectors, without them there would be no Rodrigani. Their love for my brand is of the greatest I have ever seen. I am honored to appeal and connect via my creations with people from all corners of the planet. I am eternally grateful for their loyalty.
