We had the good fortune of connecting with Yolanda Strader and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yolanda, what principle do you value most?
I live by the principle that your reputation is worth everything. It takes years of hard work and results to develop a solid reputation of being an excellent lawyer. But it only takes a few minutes to derail years of effort. You simply cannot run a successful law practice if your reputation is on shaky ground. Thus, I approach every situation with a mindset that it is another opportunity to exemplify excellence, whether that situation involves a client, a colleague, or an opposing counsel.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the co-managing attorney at Strader Paschal PLLC, a minority-owned boutique litigation law firm, which focuses on resolving disputes for a variety of businesses and individuals spanning a range of disciplines, including real estate, franchising, commercial matters, and closely held businesses. I am most proud of the fact that my law partner is my brother, Bryan Paschal, another commercial litigator with more than a decade of experience navigating complex issues. Our collaboration is unique and unfiltered, allowing us to come up with dynamic solutions that benefit our clients.

We opened Strader Paschal in March of 2022. Before starting my own law practice, I had the pleasure of working for a large law firm with an excellent reputation for approximately 12 years. My time in big law taught me how to be client-focused, to be innovative in my litigation strategies, to work collaboratively among a team of lawyers and other professionals, and to be efficient.

I left big law to be able to service a more diverse set of clients, including small and growing businesses, and individuals facing unique legal issues. I am proud that in our six months, we have helped dozens of clients navigate a broad array of legal issues. We look forward to continuing our legal support of our clients and soon-to-be clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Check out the Dania Improv of Miami Improv for a quick comedy show.

One of my new favorite spots to eat at is Kaluz in Plantation. It’s perfect for a date night for parents in the South Broward area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be a lawyer with her own thriving boutique litigation law practice were it not for my two parents, who worked tirelessly to give me the best opportunities. Indeed, it was in large part due to my father, Freddie Paschal, taking me as a child to see my cousin who served as a juvenile judge in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami, which sparked my interest in the field of law. It was seeing my mother, Verona Paschal, run a successful real estate brokerage while raising her children, which inspired me to leave the comforts of “big law” to start my own law practice while raising my two kids. My parents are the epitome of the American dream. My mother is an immigrant from Jamaica and my father grew up during the time period immediately following Jim Crow in Miami. They did not have it easy by any means. Nevertheless, they worked incredibly hard to provide countless opportunities to my siblings and me, all while teaching us that excellence comes through preparation, hard work, and fearless determination.
