We had the good fortune of connecting with Yooda Yooda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yooda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I think about being a business owner, I think about my children’s future and creating a future free of the struggle for them and many of our generations. Being an entrepreneur is not very easy it takes hard work and dedication. However, doing something you love while securing a future free of debt makes it all worthwhile.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Music really embodies who Yooda is, the art is food to my soul, and creating music gives me the opportunity to tell stories about the past, present, and future. It helps to inspire people from all walks of life. What sets me apart from this genre is that my music still holds true to hip-hop roots allowing me to pay homage to the greats before me like my brother Vado who still upholds grassroots rap culture and carries a strong fire for the future of this art right here in Miami through his studio. I really get excited about creating new music, there’s always something to write, produce and share, I get pretty excited when I see how many people appreciate my work it shows that there is a purpose and fuels me to keep going. I would say I got to where I am today because of my work ethic and my strong respect for this type of music and art. I would say that if I did not have a love for it then it would be very difficult but because I love what I do many obstacles seem to be building blocks for a strong foundation, it’s not always easy but I love what I do. When there are challenges I turn them into a story and remind myself that art takes time, I mean Picasso didn’t create without challenges, all things beautiful take time. On my journey there have been many lessons, I would say that believing in myself is my greatest lesson. The world needs to know that my music contains messages of all types, stories of love, life, and the streets so I will never give up on inspiring others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friend would definitely have to go to my manager’s house for some real authentic hot jerk chicken off the grill, we have a great time and some really good conversations, the drinks are awesome there as well, then off to my hang-out at the studio which is my favorite hang out spot. My most fun and exciting place would probably be my visit to Jamaica for a performance in front of over 25,000 people it was pretty exciting. Jamaica has a beach that connects to the river in Ohco Rios I really enjoyed my time there roasting lobsters and eating them at the waters edge.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Although it’s very cliche, I would like first to thank God for blessing me with great opportunities and placing me in the direction where my dreams become a reality. I would like to shout out to the woman who believes in me and supports me as my wife, mother of my children, and best friend, shout out to IslandRiddimsTV a great platform and award-winning TV show shown in over 37 countries with over 15 million viewers. Recently I had my single release for my new single BlackRoses which is currently trending on all downloadable platforms and social media. Shout out to my colleagues who massively showed their support! So, shout out to all of the artists, performers, DjPhoenix, and The Compound Miami.
