Meet Yuliya Karnitskaya | Furniture kitchen cabinets

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yuliya Karnitskaya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yuliya, how do you think about risk?
Our story began the day my family made a bold decision—to leave behind our quiet, predictable life and start over in a completely new country. We moved to America with open hearts and a hunger for something more. I had heard so many contrasting opinions about this country, full of opportunities but also challenges. Still, I imagined a path to success paved with bold decisions, unexpected turns, and meaningful adventures.
Reality hit fast. Any illusions about making easy money in the U.S. disappeared within the first few months in Miami. We had landed in one of Florida’s most expensive areas. We were faced with a choice—live somewhere more affordable or choose a place that felt safe and nurturing for our kids. We chose the latter and settled in Aventura.
Choosing a career path here wasn’t any easier. It happened almost by chance when I joined Sun Street, a company in the green energy sector, focusing on solar panel installations. I spent two intense months getting certified, studying regulations across different states, and learning everything I could. Not long after, I closed my first project in Pennsylvania—then came California, and later, Florida.
Through working directly with homeowners, I noticed something that kept coming up: a lack of quality products at fair prices. The construction market felt wildly inconsistent—prices often seemed arbitrary, were being pulled from the «outer space», with no real logic behind costs, taxes, or profit margins. That imbalance inspired me to branch out into other directions, like importing European windows and offering kitchen furniture designed with both quality and affordability in mind.
Hearing positive feedback from clients gave me the motivation to keep going. It also confirmed that we were on the right path. I’ve been lucky to have mentors who are not only smart and experienced but also kind and supportive. They helped me grow professionally and see challenges differently.
Now, you might be wondering—what does all this have to do with risk? The answer: everything. No project ever goes perfectly. Problems always show up—sometimes big, sometimes small. And dealing with those challenges usually falls on the shoulders of the most responsible people. Even one small mistake can become costly, both for the client and for the company. That’s why we aim for excellence. We try to prevent problems before they appear and fulfill our promises without shortcuts.
I’ve come to rely on my persistence, focus, and communication skills. These qualities have helped me build lasting relationships with clients, partners, and friends. I also try to pass these values—discipline, responsibility, and kindness—on to my children. For my daughter Kira, that’s through personal development. For my son Kirill, it’s through sports—especially judo, which teaches not only physical skill but deep respect and philosophy. He’s doing really well in tournaments, and we travel often as a family to support him.
Those trips have brought unexpected joy into our lives. After one tournament, we visited Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami, a beautiful place that felt like stepping back into the 19th century. In Aventura, our favorite local spot is Neverland Café, where we spend cozy weekends together. And in Los Angeles, we walked the Hollywood Walk of Fame and stayed at The Biltmore, a stunning historic hotel protected by UNESCO. Its charm made me feel like I had stepped into a movie—just for one night.
We’ve also been inspired by massive convention centers in Dallas and LA, where athletes push boundaries and dream big. In Salt Lake City, we laughed like kids sledding at Summit Park and making new friends through sports. These are the memories that stay with you. The people and places shape you, and that’s why we keep traveling—to feel alive and connected.
Of course, risks are always there. They come in many forms—dishonesty, inexperience, lack of responsibility. But we can reduce them with knowledge, integrity, and preparation.
And here’s the truth I’ve come to believe: don’t be afraid to take risks. Whether in business or in life, move forward with dignity. Stay true to your values. Don’t trade them for fleeting success. Most great stories come from moments of failure, uncertainty, and even fear. But when you’re honest with yourself, others will believe in you, too.
