We had the good fortune of connecting with Yuliya Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yuliya, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For me, the secret of success always consists of 2 most important factors: talent and hard work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
First of all I am a makeup artist. My interest in the beauty industry began in early childhood. Like many others, perhaps at the very beginning I practiced on my mother, sister, girlfriends, etc. Later it turned into a hobby, and then into a profession that I adore with all my heart. I’m a Bachelor of Marketing, but I also graduated from makeup school in New York to be eligible to call myself a professional makeup artist) I was born in Kazakhstan, and I never could have imagined before, as a little girl who just loved cosmetics, that in the near future I would be a makeup artist and beauty influencer in the United States, and I would be able to work with global brands in the beauty industry and not only. It’s an honor. But, as I mentioned earlier, I believe in the formula for success and the unshakable power of desire, will, and persistance, of course. As for the beauty influencer, it somehow came by itself along with the profession of a makeup artist. In order to make better content in social media, I bought a professional camera, light, and began studying Photoshop, took various makeup courses and photography from famous beauty influencers. I am all in 1: make-up artist, model, photographer, editor, and social media manager myself) Well, and I smoothly proceeded to work as a model) 2 years ago I was signed by my first talented agency in Florida and last year I was signed by another awesome agency here as well) By the way, it’s funny that the first agency noticed me thanks to my son) I brought him to the modeling casting, when he was 6 months old, and in the end we both got signed) Thank you, son) Was everything easy? Not at all. It was very difficult both mentally and physically. Starting with the fact that this is a story about a girl conquering the great country of the USA, ending with how, as a first-time full-time mother, I work on my projects at night, and on his day naps I run to auditions or do make-up, and take him to his classes in between) And so 19 months without a break. I very often catch myself thinking that I do not have enough time in the day. But again, I am insanely grateful for all the difficulties on my way, because if not, everything would have turned out differently, and today I am very happy person). I have just started my path to a dream career, so I do not focus on the negative aspects, I focus on goals, self-development, further satisfaction from the work done and the result. And I’m very sure there’s a bright future ahead) I would really like my story to help someone who dreams of something, like me, but is not sure if it will work. It will work, no matter where you are from, what gender, race, age you are, with or without children, no money or with, the main thing is if you have talent, work without sparing yourself, and everything will work out.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I really love Miami. I love the city at night. I would definitely take my friend for a ride around the city at night with open windows and loud music playing) As for food: I really love Hakkasan. I also love Cuban food, so I would go towards Coral Gables for a delicious lunch) Well, and casino) I love to play blackjack and have fun. Well, in the evening I would go to the bar in Brickel or Wynwood, but on one condition – only with my sister Olga, because without her the party is not so bright)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely, my family. My family has always been my greatest support, inspiration and driving force.
