We had the good fortune of connecting with Zack Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zack, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Stubborn on vision. Flexible on details – Jeff Bezos There are million different ways to drive from NY to LA. However, if you don’t know that you are going to LA in the first place, then you never know if you are headed in the right direction. With anything that you do in work or life, you have to set an end goal. Setting a clear vision is the most important way to keep the company headed towards the destination.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
LÜK is a talent marketplace for the advertising industry (i.e. fashion, beauty, commercial, etc.),  which does $64B in bookings per year. LÜK has assembled the top talent agencies into one location so clients can easily book models, photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists for photo/video shoots. Now, LÜK is positioning themselves to be the payments platform for the entire industry. LÜK is starting to factor the receivables of the 150+ talent agencies in their network. Currently, it takes these agencies 60-150 days to get paid. LÜK will pay them out the same day for a 5% fee of the total invoice (average payback 42 days). LÜK has now been able to raise more than $4M to continue to invest into serving our customers.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In my opinion, there is nothing better than the beach. I’d love to tell you about the hottest restaurants and bars, but I have two kids and I don’t go to any of them. They are also closed because of COVID. My wife can make really good mac & cheese and chicken nuggets though.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My professor from business school always said, “EENASWASI. every entrepreneur needs a spouse with a stable income.” My wife has been the bread winner over the course of my three different companies. Without her support (both emotionally and financially), I would not have been able to be on this entrepreneurial ride. I’m very grateful.
