We had the good fortune of connecting with Zay Poole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zay, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Over Time the balance between my work life and personal life has changed more often than expected over time. I don’t complain to much because I’m in a industry that has constant changing parts and things usually don’t stay the same for long. I could find a balance between the two for awhile but as soon as I do something happens to where I have to restructure it again, I try my best to just include it an change things around that’s already there and planned so I don’t have to so much changing and sometime it works. As of right now I am currently changing my life around little by little a day in order to get into a unconscious system so I can get that balance again.

I think right now the way I’m trying to balance is going pretty good, it definitely something I have to stay motivated to do an if not motivated then consistent in some manner in order to get myself motivated. I don’t believe theres a thing of perfect balance between the two because even small things can tip the balance of your life and how you already structured it

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I can keep this one short as well. Just be willing to learn and teach yourself as well as network with the right people and lastly surround yourself with people who align with you and what you’re trying to accomplish.

It’s never completely easy, it may have its easy going moments but its never easy to get to. I honestly haven’t even got to where I truly want to be in my career an I’ve been at it since 2018. I’m still learning and growing and fighting through challenges, I know my time is coming an it will once God and the universe are done teaching me things I need to learn and conquer before getting there. I’ve overcame these challenges by just constantly being put in them an trying to be better each time. Im going to be real at the end of the day I really don’t know what Im doing completely, I think most people don’t know what they are doing either but, in the moment we try our best to do what we know based on that moment.

I’ve learned how to be better organized, how to create and build contracts, learned to start sticking to my gut and my processes regardless of what is said, also now I’m learning to be there for myself now.

At this given point I just want the world to know I’m here and I’m doing my best to just be better than the person I was years ago, months ago hell even days ago, little progress is better than none.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly I’ll keep it short by Shouting out the people who are still here an has supported me throughout not just my personal life but my career as well. I honestly want to give them the flowers they deserve, They have seen the lows and highs of my life constantly and have stuck it out with me. I can never thank them enough, I have been going through a rough time as of late and it was because of those select individuals I was able to push through and start a new journey for myself. They push me to keep going and are part of the reasons i can find motivation in myself to do so.

Love ya’ll and thank you!
