We had the good fortune of connecting with Zay Poole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zay, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I see risks as opportunities for growth. One thing about the industry I’m in is that risk taking is one of the key factors in my opinion, risk taking is one of the main reasons why you see some successful people today. Whether that’s quitting your job and going for your passion full time, or making a decision to either do things by the industry standards or your standards. Now concerning how risks played a part in my life and career I would say it definitely isn’t something that’s easy to do or decide on all the time because sometimes risks may cost you. I know thanks to me taking risks I was able to grow and learn from each one and even through those risks I was able to get rid of the negative energy that was around me. There has been times I was put in a situation that could have had a negative or positive impact and even sometimes both, but that’s the exciting and scary part about risks not knowing whether or not if the risk will be worth it. Now think about if the risk you took turned out to be a positive impact? The great feeling you get knowing that you decided to take that risk regardless when people tried to stop you or sway you and you still made your own decision to follow through. That feeling is better than not taking the risk at all then of course knowing that you let your fears get to you and that you will never know if it would have been your big break. It goes back to the classic quote “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.” – Wayne Gretzky

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets us apart is that you will NOT get the same feel or look from what we create. We also don’t view art as just art but an experience our slogan is “Art is more than a concept, it’s an experience” and we have not yet failed on that measure. We also use different terminology in order to bring the experience to everyone for example; we refer to our clients as “travelers” and our services as “missions”. We do this because I see us as an extraterrestrial company and our main HQ is set in the universe somewhere constantly moving we refer to our HQ as “The Arc” or “Arc” depending how it used. It’s little details like these that brings an extra element to the craft and work that I think people don’t get to often, for some it may be cheesy but to us it’s MoonLite. We even refer to our partners or subscribers as citizens of the arc and from the feedback they love it! I feel these few things helped get us where we are today because without goals, morals & creativity which is something people aren’t used to due to the lack of everyone trying to copy everyone, then how do you expect to be known for you.

No, it was not easy an it’s still not we are currently reworking a lot of new things to make the experiences more fun and easy for ourselves and our travelers(clients). There has been days & nights I was down and doubted myself and even broke down because I saw things and experienced things I didn’t expect to so early or at all. I’ve sacrificed things & lost people due to this and it was hard to accept some it but I soon realized that it may be for the better I had to move past it and stay positive. there are to many lessons to name so I will say top 3 would be
1. Patience,
2. Acceptance
3. Stay true to yourself

If there is one thing I would want the world to know about us is that we are driven, strong and we may be young but we will come out on top and change the industry for the better and for black owned business. I can’t tell you what I want you to know about our story because it hasn’t fully begun but I can promise you if you keep watching & reading I’m sure it’s a story you’d love to know. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I honestly couldn’t tell you I’ve only been to Miami once and spent most of the time on the strip that everyone goes to. I will say for sure get a boat/yacht cause the water is definitely a comforting scene and so is the air when sailing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course my family will always receive credit because they constantly were my peace when I needed it the most and the amount of love and support they give keeps me going. Yes, of course they knock me aside my head when I need it but it’s only because they want me to be great and see me do what I was born to do. Then of course just the people who always has both of our best interests at heart. I won’t name drop every single person but they for sure know who they are.
