We had the good fortune of connecting with Zoë de boehmler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zoë, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
I’d have to say that you can only put out your best work when you are being true to who you are, when you are moving/ making decisions from a place of “Does this resonate with my most inner feelings, am I being guided by love and passion or fear?”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been Determined to be independent, free from societal dictation of how or where I should be in my life at this age, determined to be happy and proud of my work and learned along the way that i had to also stay detached from a particular path to get there. The swimwear business gave me a taste of entrepreneurship and the feeling of finding my strengths in my vulnerabilities. I found myself successfully managing a business and all the logistics of production, creativity, trade shows, photo shoots and staff. This after years of being to shy to put my hand up in school was a big eye opener to my capabilities of being a leader, building mutually beneficial relationships and holding myself and others to that standard, one of respect, reliability & compassion. Staying determined to get the job done. The fashion business is ever changing- much like life. We decided to slow down with the bikini business and stopped the trade shows, brick and mortar fell to the wayside of fast fashion. I had to let go of that lifestyle I spent 5 years curating and still maintain a lifestyle style of a being present parent, now single mum. Yoga fed my creative side, kept my soul full and happy. But I still had to feed my kids so I got a part time job as a brand consultant with an awesome local company Kluch Clothing! This soon turned in to an administration position and my multitasking capabilities are tested on a daily. detaching from design side of fashion and focused  on administrative and planning… it is not the path but the journey. I am proud of being able to adapt and thrive no matter where life takes me. I am most proud of doing so and still being true to who I am, finding ways to feed my fire and my kids.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So firstly I’m Not a city girl! But I can answer this question truthfully as I often have my girlfriends from home come visit me. Fist up yoga class at The Yoga Society In down town west palm beach Or hamsa yoga in Jupiter for a hour of fun challenging hot vinyasa, handstands and good vibes. The beach or the boat is a must right after class, salt water to wash away the sweat from practice then laying in the sun to dry off. Brunch will be Aioli for quiche and the best “crack coffee” on the planet. My friends like to shop so I’d have to fit that into the itinerary somewhere, I’d take them to the local spots tho, Nomad for beach dresses & Olwen Jewelry for awesome one of a kind pieces. Dinner downtown clematis and if I had my way we would Hit the dive holes for some country music – but they’d kill me lol. So drinks at the club downtown preferably on a roof top. Ideally tho, they’ve planned the trip into town for a particular event like a concert or since our kids all surf maybe a contest or the perfect little swell. In this instance it’s full days on the water with family, grilling and laughing and catching up.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a handful of amazing people to choose from. I think in part I first owe thanks to by business partner Rosanna Bermudez for pushing me out of my comfort zone, and really giving me no option but to put my self and my creativity out in the open. My yoga community for always holding space for me to explore deeper into who I truly am and most importantly my daughters for giving me the fight and hustle to always keep going.
