We had the good fortune of connecting with Zola Janae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zola Janae, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
A few years ago, I left my government job because I wanted more than just a 9-5. Being a mother of three young children, I quickly learned I wanted something that would allow me freedom as well as being more active with my children’s everyday lives. I discovered the benefits to being my own boss and that is how T-shirt Trap was born.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At T-shirt Trap we offer just what you need to take your creative ideas to the next level. Here we do custom and business branding. Staying original and in our lane is exactly what sets us apart from others. I am most proud about staying the course especially through those days where business may be slow. My hard work and consistency with my products have both brought me to where I am today. Although, it has not always been easy keeping God first and my faith has helped me overcome the challenges. The lessons I’ve learned along the way would be to always do my research and that no two customers are alike so treat each on an individual basis. I’d like the world to know that I am a trustworthy person and I take pride in my work and what I offer.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta, we’d definitely go to Pappadeaux they have the best seafood. Toast On Lenox for brunch, the Atlanta beltline or Atlantic Station to hangout for the day, Boogalou Atlanta or Revel for a good nightlife vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely have to dedicate this Shoutout to my children and their dad Ray. They truly keep me encouraged and motivated especially on the days that I am just trying to juggle being a mom, entrepreneur, and better half.
