We had the good fortune of connecting with Zula Khramov and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zula, what do you attribute your success to?
“To be irreplaceable means to be different” said Coco Chanel, but I would expand that quote. Different can go both directions, either good or bad, and whichever you choose, you’d have to balance it with other factors.
My brand is being built with a strong base of highly trained educated professionalism enhanced by years of experience and futuristic conceptual development.

To produce the product that would be loved enough to be bought, the emotional side of design has to be balanced with the technical side, and given the utmost attention to inventive but traditionally strong cut.

ZulaStudio is targeting the fashionably educated sophisticated client with appreciation of well made, intellectual, uniquely constructed and flawlessly executed garments.

Some call it slow fashion as the opposite of low quality short lived fast fashion.
In a way, ZulaStudio belongs to a short list of brands that uphold the art side of fashion, which is inspired by contemporary avant-garde concept.

We are targeting real fashion lovers, who are interested in clothes that tell a story, give your body flattering lines, but most importantly, subtly delivering a message about the wearer as a modern minded person with unique personal style.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
ZulaStudio proudly represents rare hashtag #fashionart. The most exciting part is creating a conceptual collection united by a single idea that inspires it. That concept is many layered and sometimes cryptical, loaded with Easter eggs of references. We are producing a fashion film as a teaser, fashion show and editorial shoots to fully disclose the idea and add emotional interest to collection. After all, it is a clothing line made to be worn by women, and we create a cinematic story our clients could relate to.

The quality of our product is something we are taking pride of, and is also something that sets us apart from other underground labels.

ZulaStudio also makes a woman’s body oriented clothes. We pay attention to the cut that would prioritizes flattering the body over following trends, and enhance felinity rather than masculinity.

ZulaStudio clothes are a little more than just clothes: they are a fashionable outtakes from the lives you would want to live, experiences you would be perfectly dressed for.

They will make you feel that way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Jacksonville metro area, and my best friends are from more exciting places, so… The best time ever we usually spend in my studio, because it’s full of treasures and because real magic happens there. Like, amazing dress emerges from the piece of fabric, or accessory is being born from something out of the box. We can visit local restaurants to eat of course, but usually everybody wants me to cook Russian food, and that the experience you should be serious about, because Russians can sure throw a party.

The other fun thing to do is a creative photo shoot, and Florida is a gem, from the ocean views to amazing springs and rivers.

It may sound boring, but creative people don’t really need outside entertainment as the most interesting things are going on inside their heads.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I surround myself with people that are interesting to me, who continue their personal and professional development, work creative jobs, have fascinating lives. One of my inspirations is my own daughter Vika Khramov, who achieved a high position in finance management of luxury car business at the tender age of 23 and keeps amazing me with her drive and her approach to getting and exceeding her goals.

The other person I admire is Olga Uskova, the founder of Cognitive Technologies, the AI company that is producing the new generation of robots for automobile transportation with independent vision and fascinating resemblance to human brain operative system.

My close friend Natasha Kertes is ongoing inspiration and creative force behind many ideas for conceptual photo shoots.

If you desire to invest into education then anybody can be your teacher – this is my motto in life.
