We had the good fortune of connecting with Meghan Maloof Berdellans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meghan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
It is difficult to pinpoint a single most important factor, but if I had to pick the top two factors, I’d choose working ‘smarter’ not harder + authenticity. I truly believe that those two are necessary tools in order to achieve overall success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am part of many businesses and a non-profit: my social media marketing agency, full-service relocation concierge specializing in real estate, and The Endometriosis Coalition, a Los Angeles based 501(c)(3). On the marketing agency side, we specialize in organic social media management as well as influencer marketing. A few of my well-known projects include making the rainbow bagel go viral in 2016, starting a global unicorn food trend, working with the Archdiocese of New York/St. Patrick’s Cathedral for Pope Francis’ visit to the US, and growing my 8lb Shih Tzu Ceili the Puppy into an influencer and NYFW model. On the relocation and real estate side, S&S Global is a full-service relocation concierge specializing in real estate. Our services entail Relocation, Real Estate, & Consulting and we are passionate about bringing innovative ideas to the mobility sector. We are working on a lot of exciting things! It has not been the smoothest road, but that is what keeps everything exciting. When I was working in New York, I met my husband on Twitter. Never in a million years did I think I would end up living in Miami for the majority of the time and transitioning my business. My work with The Endometriosis Coalition is some of the most rewarding work I have ever done in my life. Endometriosis is a disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus causing tremendous pain and the possibility of infertility. It took me 10 years and over a dozen specialists to get a diagnosis. Ever since I had my surgery for the disease in 2015, I have made it my personal mission to ensure no one goes through what I went through. Since then, our work with The Endometriosis Coalition has had multiple viral campaigns including our #1in10 Endometriosis Awareness Month campaign. I am grateful to work alongside two amazing women leaving their mark on this world. The main lessons I have learned are (1) always remain authentic, (2) to work smart, not hard, and (3) take risks and be brave. If I had not done these 3 things, I don’t know where I would be today.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being a New York transplant in Miami, I already have a guide because so many people ask what to do here. Below is an example of a weekend that I have actually curated with a family member from New York 🙂 The weekend would be as follows: I’d start off the Friday happy hour at Sugar at the EAST hotel in Brickell, followed by Dave Grutman’s Komodo dinner with the works and heading to LIV for some nightclub fun. Saturday morning, I would take my friends to Soho House to relax by the beach or pool with some of their amazing cocktails followed by visiting Cowshed spa. I would take them to Bal Harbour Shops afterwards for some light shopping. In the early evening, I would take them to Miami’s new ‘Riverside’ in Brickell for drinks and outdoor chill fun. Sunday would be spent out on the boat, pulling up to Kiki on the River or Seaspice for delicious food and heading to CMX for a movie in the evening. During the week, I’d suggest they head to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, Frost Museum, Coconut Grove to Glass and Vine or Greenstreet Cafe, Novikov in Downtown Miami, Big Easy in Brickell City Centre for an incredible wine list, the Broken Shaker for the most creative and delicious cocktails, OMAKAI sushi, etc… There is so much to do in this incredible city – the fun never stops!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Besides my family being my most active and loving supporters, the book ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ profoundly changed my life and how I structure my day-to-day.
