Perspectives on work life balance

The Coronavirus has given many us an opportunity to pause and think about life, our purpose, and even the right work life balance. What’s your perspective and has it changed over time?

I’ve always been very dedicated and passionate about my work and projects since I opened a business in high school. I was blessed in knowing what I wanted to do at a young age and my studies and interests centered around the arts. I started painting ceramics when I was only fourteen and today own Frascione Gallery together with my husband. The balance is easy when the line between work and fun is blurred. The day the first of my four children was born I knew I would need to adapt the long hours as my family came first and managed correctly it works out. The children are inevitably curious and drawn to our unique business and often travel with us for work. The work balance for me is seen as what they call the circle of life, one must balance the work parts in percentages and try to balance each area, for example, analyzing, editing time, creative process, shooting, media., between others, where one must analyze that a certain area does not exceed the time one stipulates. Initially, my focus was solely on advancing my career and seizing every opportunity that came my way. I was driven by ambition and the desire to achieve professional success. However, as I embarked on the journey of marriage and family life, my perspective gradually shifted. I came to realize that true fulfillment encompasses not only career achievements but also personal relationships and well-being. Striking a balance between work and life became increasingly important to me. While I still harbor a deep passion for what I do professionally, I’ve learned to prioritize my family and personal time as well. This newfound equilibrium has not only enriched my personal life but has also enhanced my effectiveness and satisfaction in my career.
