We had the good fortune of connecting with Yinet Sosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yinet, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Pretty Please Beauty Bar was just a thought that came to life! At first everyone asked me how did I make it happen and I spent some time trying to figure out the answer to their question. When in reality the real question was “ Do you want to stay in the same position your whole life?” There’s times you will think about giving up, there’s times people will doubt you, there’s times you will ask yourself “is it really worth it?” But I said yes to believing in myself and the vision I created for Pretty Please Beauty Bar. Follow what you believe in and don’t let any obstacles stop you.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started the Beauty industry with Body Sculpting. I fell in love with the idea of helping women achieve their goals and giving them the extra push to feel confident and sexy. As a new business owner it’s difficult to just jump into an investment without knowing where it’s going to take you but what’s life without risks? I decided to make the jump and do what my heart said. I started my journey working from an extra room in my house in Tampa, Fl because I couldn’t afford to have my own workplace. As I started expanding I would have clients ask me to come to Miami, Fl to offer my services. I then would come to Miami once a month to work at my old room at my parents house in Hialeah. It was definitely something to remember because we had to set up the room every morning for my clients and then set back up to sleep at night. We would remove all the bedroom furniture and bring in the body sculpting supplies. That’s something we laugh about now. Moving back to Miami was a decision that helped me grow having aproximen 6 clients a day. It got to a point that I felt a bit unprofessional and uncomfortable in the position that I was working. My work was satisfying but the conditions I was in was not up to part. I had influencers, entrepreneurs and higher class women interested in my work but I felt embarrassed bringing them to what was really my old bedroom. With all the hard work and support I didn’t stop there. I always had a vision to expand even more and grow an empire under my name. So one day I was hanging out with my cousin Sami trying to figure out what to do next and the name Pretty Please came to mind. I randomly just said it! We loved the idea and I automatically knew what I was going to build behind it. I can say I’m a perfectionist at its finest so believe me when I say, I had a few ideas presented to me before settling with one. But one thing I had certain was building Pretty Please Beauty Bar I wanted to create a atmosphere for women to feel comfortable, pretty and still be able to afford it. I wanted Pretty Please to be the “babe cave” for our clients. Having a one time stop with all the services we provide. If you’re looking for a makeover, Pretty Please Beauty Bar is your place to be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami is definitely the place to visit. I have a few go to spots that I will never get bored of. I like to visit the Mondrian Hotel in South Beach to chill pool side. My girl Paty always recommends the best cocktails and bites for the perfect pool day. For a fun game night, I like going to Basement Miami located in the Edition Hotel. They have bowling alleys, an ice skating rink followed with the top hits and the best cocktails. For a fancy dinner I love going to el tucán in the heart of brickell. I celebrated my birthday there this year and it was one to remember. They have the most original entertainment show that you can enjoy while having dinner. The have a very tasty American-Asian cuisine which is my favorite. If I’m in the mood for a meal from my cuban roots I’m headed to Hialeah where I can find the Ready Dough Food Truck. They offer the original dough used in cuba to make their pizzas. You have the option to pick from what they call their “funny menu.” My go to topping is the “por ahí viene Pepe” which is their signature pepperoni cuban pizza. My go to place to hang out with friends would be wynwood. In wynwood you will find the most amazing art and low profile artist perform their creative ideas all around the streets. Wynwood is the spot to park and walk around enjoying the small businesses and what they have to offer. You can find clothing stores, bars, restaurants and much more for entertainment.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother growing up always told me you are who you surround yourself with. That’s something that stuck with me because I’ve never been a follower but one to put my foot down and make my own choices. I look up to the intelligent Stephaine Shojaee that once quoted: I’ve never ran in packs, I’ve always kept my circle small, very small. Just know that the women you want to become will cost you people/relationships. Always choose to be your own best friend and never once stop to worry about what anyone thinks of you.
