Meet Jamie and Jessie Zano | Creators of Vote or Dare

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie and Jessie Zano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie and Jessie, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My brother and I always had a passion for games, growing up we always played games with our family. Monopoly, Uno, Stratego, you name it.

It was when we were older, we always enjoyed having game nights with our friends. This is when we realized all the games we were playing were all so similar and just weren’t so enjoyable. We thought why not make our own party game that we can make different than all the other party games while having the best time with your friends.

After endless nights of thinking and brainstorming different concepts, we decided to come up with a party game that is designed to get to know your friends or people you just met with questions that make you find out answers you never knew, while performing hilarious dares at the same time that keep you and your friends laughing all night!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a card game company that allows you to have the best game nights with your friends or people you just met. You can play our games during any occasion. One of our biggest accomplishments is being partnered with Amazon and Walmart. What makes us excited and love what we do is when random people from all over the world are playing the game we created. It is such a good feeling for us to know people are having the best time with their friends from a concept we created. The process definitely wasn’t easy, we spent countless nights brainstorming different ideas. The way we got through these nights and overcome these challenges was knowing we had a great concept and wanted to bring it to the market. Also just a fun time working on this project in general to be able to start a business and work closely with your brother.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We live in Fort Lauderdale in which we think is such a fun place to visit and live in. One place we highly recommend is The Wharf in Downtown Fort Lauderdale or The Hub. Both places have good energy and vibes, and great people and music too! As far as food goes, Bodega (right across the street from The Wharf) has some banging tacos!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to give a shoutout to our parents! We always looked up to both of them as they were both entrepreneurs themselves. They both started their own businesses from ground up and always motivated and supported us with whatever we did!
