We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Salazar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I have always believed that working hard and dedicating yourself alone will not result in heightened levels of success. A similar concept to assuming booksmarts alone will guarantee someones success. Many of the most successful people in the world have not only gotten there by hard work and dedication alone but also by believing in themselves and having the confidence to invest in their ideas and talents which ultimately always comes with risk, whether it be monetary or personal.

Amongst other things, I believe that risk-taking has played a huge role in not only my personal accomplishments but also the success of so many people I respect and look up to as well. I, for one, certainly would not have achieved what I have if I hadn’t been willing to branch out on my own, hire employees, and take on projects that may have, at the time, felt “bigger” than me. All of these things that may have felt scary when presented to me resulted in further strides in my career and ultimately, far more overall success and experience.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our brand is unique in that we take a very personal approach to design. Although we bring our taste and style to each project, we believe that the ultimate goal is a client’s happiness and comfort in their home rather than a couple of portfolio shots for our website. We maintain relationships with our clients long after their homes have been completed because we care. It is my ultimate joy to wake up every day and do what I love! Creating beautiful and unique spaces for each individual client is my hearts desire and it’s so wonderful being able to share that with a team who is as passionate as I am.

As far as our growth and success goes, I believe that with the right amount of passion and love for what you do, a healthy appetite for risk, an endurance for hard work, a drive for problem solving, and steadfast integrity, will lead to an abundance of success and growth for anyone looking to grow their business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am such a homebody! When I do venture out with friends, I love to go to my usual dinner spots Hillstone and Key Club – they’re close to home and the food is always excellent! I also really enjoy attending events and performances at the Arsht Center when available, like Romeo and Juliet that’s coming up or Nutcracker as we get closer to Christmas. A guilty pleasure of mine with friends is a day of shopping in Bal Harbour and some sushi at Makoto – you can’t beat that!
