We had the good fortune of connecting with Kara and Sabine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kara and Sabine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Initially, when we decided to start our business, we both realized how often the topic of dating and relationships would come up in our everyday conversations. Whether it be amongst friends and family or while watching some of our favorite reality TV shows together, dating and relationships always seem to be the main topic of conversation.

With one of us being newly married and the other being single and dating, we can offer different perspectives based on our personal experiences. We decided to collaborate and start a business where we would be able to help our fellow millennials improve relationships and navigate the dating scene. Our goal is to cultivate genuine connections for millennials by millennials through relationship coaching and providing matchmaking services.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Millennial Matchmakers was founded by two South Florida friends, Kara & Sabine, who are both Certified Relationship Coaches and Matchmakers. We offer relationship coaching, matchmaking services, speed dating, and single’s mixer events. Our goal is to bring single millennials together who would like to mix and mingle with other relationship-minded singles within the same age group. We are excited to put together fun and creative singles’ mixers that would allow opportunities for people to make connections and meet new friends in a casual and friendly atmosphere.

As new business owners, we have encountered many challenges. However, we overcome them by being tenacious and persistent. In doing so, we’ve learned that nothing worth having comes easy and we will continue to strive for success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We enjoy spending time in the Midtown area. There’s so much to see and do; whether you’re into the arts, the music, the food, or the culture. It’s a nice area to socialize and get a small taste of what Miami has to offer. Kara’s favorite spot is Vista, located in the Upper Buena Vista area. Vista offers a beautiful ambiance, a scenic rooftop, and handcrafted cocktails. It’s the perfect spot for brunch or a romantic date. Sabine’s favorite spot is Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen, which is located in the heart of Wynwood. Dukunoo is a vibrant and upbeat atmosphere with a live DJ. Both places have amazing food and drinks and are highly recommended. If you’re ever in the area, definitely check them out!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to thank our friends and family who have supported our vision from the inception of The Millennial Matchmakers, LLC. Also, we would like to give recognition to The Matchmaking DUO for inspiring us join the dating services industry.
