Stella Tharin | Stained Glass Artist

Inspiration comes from many things for me, but nature is the main source! I grew up by the beach and my family would go camping in the mountains almost every summer, so I developed a huge appreciation for the outdoors. I love traveling, and always draw inspiration from my experiences and the different scenery I encounter! I’m also inspired by my “spirituality” and bring this element into my work by adding crystals to certain designs. My dad. A great dad and a great entrepreneur. He taught himself truck mechanics at the age of 14 by reading books, and taking on a job as an assistant to truck drivers. He would hear a sound from a car or truck and knew straight away what engine, or any mechanical troubles that may come from that sound haha. He built his business from scratch, failed at some point, and rebuilt an even greater one. He always mentioned to me he felt very lonely. I didn’t understand it then as a young girl, but I think now I do. The journey of entrepreneurship can be quite lonesome. Read more>>

People. All of the crazy sh*t they say and do. From weird silly rituals, to blunt statements they make when they think no one is really listening. Watching them pick fruits at grocery stores and how they explain things to little kids, almost making “where did cheese come from?” sound like magic. This is why I love photography so much, I try my best to capture the moments in between. I get so inspired just being outside and around the rush, it’s really that little second of capturing sonder.
