We had the good fortune of connecting with Lia Abels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lia, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
For me the end goal would be to inspire and make my mark on this earth. Of course I would love for my business to be abundant in all aspects but the end of my career professionally I just want to know that somewhere along the journey I help others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My unique passion is what sets me apart from other creators and artists. I try not to involve myself in anything that I can’t put my whole heart into. That way I’ll always know that in everything I’ve put my hands into I tried my very best and gave my all. It’s all or nothing for me. That passion alone is what keeps my business going. The need and the want to constantly push myself. It shows in my work and I try to leave that impression on those I meet. I am most proud of my business starting community events this year. I hosted a few giveaways and also a back to school giveaway. From gathering sponsors, creating the digital work, and throwing the event I started from the ground up with that project. I was able to help many students across the country which was extremely heartfelt. I plan on continuing that legacy annually.
When I started my makeup artistry business I honestly only set goals for that. I did not imagine I would start a sister business creating my own beauty line and find ways to give back. My cosmetic line named Lia’s Locker Cosmetics was founded in March of 2022. It was the most fun project I’ve worked on. It consists of Vegan and Cruelty free matte lipstick kits, lipglosses, and mink lashes. I sold out of my first line within 6 months and was extremely proud of that.
As my businesses grow and I grow as a woman I am always finding ways to elevate and learn, One of the things I’ve learned most recently is not to limit myself. I started off with 1 dream and ended up with 3. I know it sounds cliche but it’s never too late to dream big. One door can open so many you just have to start with what you have and what you know. I am looking forward to expanding my businesses as I see fit and inspiring other young women who may have an eye for the same type of work I do. I plan to use my platform to help other women feel good about themselves as my brand is all about recognizing both one’s inner and outer beauty.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to visit is the beach. Sunrise or sunset, I’m there. It’s a lot of fun and different things to do there. Like going on boat rides, nice restaurants and even spas are on the beach. I also would recommend for a person to visit the Hard Rock hotel and casino. I recently have become addicted with going there lol. It’s always nice especially when there is a concert or musician there. I also like the food and drinks there. There is also a selfie museum located in South Florida, I’ve personally never been but I have been wanting to go since they opened.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God deserves all of the credit in both my professional and personal life. I owe it all to him.

This shoutout is dedicated to my sweet baby girl Selena. Giving birth to her rebirthed me and gave me all the courage and strength I never knew I had in me. Everything I do is for her. Also I would love to dedicate this to all of my clients and customers because they are the most important part of my vision and without them Lia’s Locker won’t run.
