We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlene Goldman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marlene, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
In recent years I’ve made many changes that I wish I’d made much earlier in my life, from trying to get eight hours of sleep a night to having a specific time at night when I regularly turn off my devices. There is no trade-off between living a well-rounded life and the ability to do good work. I find my performance actually improves when I commit to not only working hard, but also unplugging, recharging, and renewing myself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I always like to say I am not a broker, I am an educator. My main focus is and has always been on arming my clients with knowledge to help them in their decision-making process. My approach is tailored to every client’s individual needs.  I consider the pressure placed on me as a privilege.  My clients count on me to be an expert and I strive to exceed their expectations. No other agent has the same combination of skills, experiences, resources and personal traits that I offer however its the intangibles – professionalism, communication, integrity, and work ethic – that make me unique and set me apart from the rest.

Today, I am most excited for the upcoming launch of my own real estate company and am looking forward to expanding my services to other markets including New York and the Hamptons.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s impossible to come to Miami and not visit the beaches. Whether you want to take a walk, window shop, grab a bite, sit at a bar for a drink, people watch, bike down the boardwalk, workout at Muscle Beach, or simply sip on a drink oceanfront… South Beach is definitely your first stop.

If you are not a beach person, head over to Wynwood. There’s always something to do in Wynwood. Home to venues and event spaces aplenty, Wynwood is always buzzing with something new to do. Mana Wynwood, a six-acre property that’s both a convention center and an event space, hosts events ranging from music festivals to large industry gatherings and nightlife events. The Sacred Space Miami is a serene tropical oasis for wellness, social happenings and corporate events. Its on-site modern plant-based restaurant, Plant Miami, is one of my favorites. Locals also love to head to Gramps, Wynwood’s favorite dive bar and venue space where you can expect themed nights, outdoor concerts and a pizza truck.

Lastly, you can’t miss one of my new favorite neighborhoods… Coconut Grove. The Grove has numerous restaurants, open air and streetside cafes, and several waterfront restaurants and bars, outdoor festivals and events, the most prominent of which is the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival.  The combination of chef-driven restaurants, charming sidewalk cafes, chic boutiques, lush parks, and a glittering shoreline decorated by sailboats make Coconut Grove one of my favorite destinations brimming with scenic serenity and natural splendor.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My “Shoutout” is dedicated to all the great people I have met and have the privilege to serve. Real estate has afforded me the ability to cross paths with a number of fascinating people. The majority of them end up becoming my friends and I truly love being a part of their lives outside of real estate.
