Meet Michelle Vanessa Madison | TV Host, Spokeswomen, Food & Travel Critic

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Vanessa Madison and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle Vanessa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel like a lot of people are scared of taking a risk because they think that may not succeed at it. I personally think even if you do, it’s always a lesson in it all and you never know who you may meet in the processs to put you in a better postition than that particular risk in itself. In the past I didn’t think I had enough experience with certain opportunities, but I said let me take this ” risk” and let me step out of my comfort zone and because of that , it has put me in a position for future opportunities. So I say go for it !

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s funny because I never thought I would make a career out of food and travel since I have been doing real estate for over 8 years (which I still do for investment purposes) but I was never passionate about it as what I do now. I always admired and thought it was so cool watching Tv host travel the world, get to eat, and meet so many cool people along the way while all getting paid haha. I always said that would be a dream job of mines, as long as I’m doing something involving food and travel ,then I’m happy..even if it’s off or on TV. Although I don’t have my very own show “yet” I feel like I’m on my way there, from having the opportunity to be on National and locally TV shows, as well as attending the top food events in the world. People find it pretty interesting that I come from a multi-cultural background. Being of German, African-American, and Nicaraguan descent, my parents taught me how relevant it is to embrace a diversity of cultures and cuisines. Given my background I learned how to cook many dishes from each culture, which has given me a true insight and passion for the culinary and beautiful world we live in! I would love for the world to know me as a kind, giving, god fearing, and multicultural women who knows her way around the kitchen and can teach you a thing or 2 on your TV screens! I’m beyond proud of myself for taking all those risk and opportunities that I was at first hesitant to take because it has led me to where I’m at now,and the best part of it all, is that I feel like this is just the beginning!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Perfect question, I actually get asked this question a lot giving I was born & raised in Miami, Florida people trust me with my recommendations .. I feel like I know this city inside and out! I always say I like to do a happy balance of it all! From hitting up some local spots such as Joe’s Stone Crab and Rusty Pelican to grab a bite to eat for lunch. From there doing a lil siteseeing to work off those calories at South Pointe Park and then taking it to Wynwood to see some art galleries. Finishing off the night at one my favorite dinner parties at MAU or Marion.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely my mother and God, I have a close relationship with them both and because of that I believe I was blessed enough to receive the opportunities that has been given to me throughout my life
