Meet Geo Lehn | Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Geo Lehn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Geo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I honestly had no idea about ever starting my own business in the beginning. At the time I just moved back to my hometown to take care of my grandparents and had no job. A few buddies of mine, Ryan Luriea and Rock Georges, asked me to come on by to film them producing some music. I created a little video edit of them and they mentioned how I could make money filming and editing videos. From there my amazing grandmother bought me my first professional camera and I haven’t looked back since. Realizing that I would be my own boss and make my own hours really gave me a sense of excitement, but at the same time brought some thoughts of the fear of failing. I think the main thing I had to overcome was knowing that failure is unavoidable. Mistakes are going to happen, and what I had to tell myself was that it’s okay to make those mistakes. Mistakes meant that there was something I was going to learn from that situation that in return will make me grow that much more to be successful. My mindset was solely focused on becoming the best videographer I could possibly be, and use my talent to help others bring their ideas to life.

What should our readers know about your business?
I absolutely love what I do. Videography is my passion and being able to share my talent with others and turn their ideas into realty is such a fulfilling feeling. Geo Media Co. focuses on specifically video services. I just find that rewatching a motion picture where you can not just see but also hear the emotion from that moment is such an important part of reliving that memory.
Wedding videos has been such a joy to capture for couples. I love being able to be a part of a special day where I know it will go by in a flash, and using my services I can help recreate those memories where a couple can relive it for the rest of their lives. People want to hear the jokes that were said in the bridal suite, father’s crying out of happiness when they first see their little girl in their dress, and that first kiss to symbolize a lifelong partnership. All of these moments are memories that are worth reliving for a lifetime.
Besides weddings, I love getting to know people and finding out what their true story is. I think short films and documentaries are an incredible way to showcase who they truly are as a person and their values. I always tell people that everyone has story and everyone is important. You don’t need to be “famous” to have a story.
I’m super excited to keep growing and connecting with new people. I hope to share my talent with others and be able to even mentor those who want to learn and start their own business. I will be honest, it’s not easy at times being your own boss, but you have the opportunity to push yourself to limits you never thought you had. As long as you are open minded and have the passion, then you can be successful. Continue to constantly network and never stop learning.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s always a relaxing vacation when you visit South Florida. I would for sure start the day off grabbing a nice Buzzin’ Banana Smoothie from Gilberts Coffee Bar. If you love coffee and vinyls then for sure visit The Roasted Record Coffee and Vinyl. Then fill your shopping addiction with a stop by 561 Skateboarding to check out their awesome clothing or skate needs. Best thing is you don’t need to be a skater to shop here, they have amazing clothing for everyone. Of course, we are in South Florida so I would head over to Hutchinson Island to check out the amazing beaches we have here on the Treasure Coast. After a nice long day at the beach, on your way home stop and get yourself a filling and healthy açaí bowl at the delicious Ital Bowls Food Truck. I am a huge fan of golf, so make sure to check out The Saints at Port St. Lucie golf course to get in a round of 18. Make sure to check out the historic Downtown Stuart where you can walk on the boardwalk while you eat a garlic knot and slice of pizza from Luna’s Pizza. Maybe you are from New York, so make yourself feel at home with a lunch at Ellie’s Deli. Finish the night with some drinks and live music at Terra Fermata or cocktails at Mermaid Bar.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So I wouldn’t be where I am today without the recognition and gratitude of so many individuals I’ve met through life. Of course, it truly starts with my family and friends that have continuously supported and believed in everything I do in my life. I couldn’t be more grateful to have such a loving support system that will always express how proud they are of me for anything I put my mind to.
My wonderful fiancé is my everything when it comes to pushing me to become the best version of myself every single day. I don’t know what I would do without a partner so supportive, loving, and excited to see me grow and improve with every new project I finish. She has been my motivation to want to be even more successful and never let a roadblock stop me from finding a solution. She is truly someone special.
Ryan Luriea and Rock Georges were truly the beginning of even the thought of creating my own business. Talk about two people who truly saw my potential before I even knew I had any. I can’t even describe the gratitude I have for these guys to always make sure that when we succeed we do it together and never leave anyone behind. Family is everything and family will always have each others back.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Christian Sierra, Josh Vonsander, Christopher Smith, Chaz Mazzota, Brandon Berry, Ryan Chimelis and Jakob Takos for truly teaching me the skills I’ve learned about videography, business, and cameras. These individuals have turned me into a videographer that can overcome anything. I know no matter what goes on, I can always count of these guys to help me guide me back on the right path, and I truly can call these individuals some of my closest friends. Finding people that care about not just their growth but also yours is tough, but I can truly say these are some of the most humble and amazing brothers I could ever ask for.
