We had the good fortune of connecting with Irem Balaban and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Irem, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had one simple thought and that was how much I loved jewelry and I knew other women did too

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I moved to LA with $400 in my pocket in 2009 and it’s been a very long journey that required a lot of patience. I had to be away from my family and finally got citizenship last year. Fast forward to 2021 I landed a job at a very well know interior design firm and I am in the furniture production department. My jewelry company started as a hobby and turned into a business I got so many positive feedback from my friends and family about my brand. I designed the packaging and the whole brand. I am very proud of what I have created. It is not easy to own your business because you need put in the more time and effort to it more than anything.
I’m excited for what’s to come

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My number one favorite spot is Malibu, I love being by the water and Malibu pier is such a great spot to have breakfast or brunch. I also love Abbot Kinney and that would be another spot that we would be hitting. Next spot will be of course Beverly Hill Rodeo drive and then for dinner Santa Monica Elephante because I love eating pasta 😝

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve been very lucky to have a supportive family. They’ve always supported me with whatever I wanted to pursue in life. My strength and motivation comes from their love and support
