Meet Mike Silva | Personal/Private Cooking & Travel Chef

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
At this point there were many thoughts that came and went along with reasonable questions but the biggest thought process behind starting my own business was the use of my time and opportunities to work and serve amazing people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I love the most about my business other than cooking and meeting amazing people is that I get to create the format or the business structure which eventually will be my work schedule.
Working on my own gave me the opportunity to follow my passion by providing Personal/Private and Travel Chef services where I will prepare meals for my clients at their home kitchens or at commercial kitchens depending on the occasion or client’s needs and preferences. All meals will be done and cooked daily.
Today’s compaction that sets me apart from others isn’t just the cooking but the one on one relationship and care provided.
I Think the most exciting moment was turning 1 years old in business.
It is not easy for any small business or entrepreneur to start a business and succeed but it’s not impossible if you truly believe it. To me what made me overcome the challenges on the way was by having a clear picture of me, my services and business in my head. It might sound a bit crazy but it was my source of strength. In fact still until today.
The biggest lessons that had a great impact in my professional and personal life was by being open minded and humble. Don’t be afraid to research, study and even ask for mentorship in order to succeed. I always saw a challenge as a start over for a better stronger accomplishment.
Just a passionate, determined and hungry immigrant for success. I am very grateful for everything and everyone that had an impact in my life. I still have a lot to accomplish and I hope you are one of them by tasting out of my dishes.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Coconut Grove and Coral Gables Miami Florida are my go to. With great to excellent restaurants and bars hugging the shoreline of Biscayne Bay, with relaxed sidewalk cafes, chic shops and museums. On top of that Key Biscayne Florida for a weekend with private beach access and a relaxing safe village.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, I would like to start by thanking all of my clients who have been supporting me on my growth and career wise and on top of that all of those who never once looked down on me.
