We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatiana Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tatiana, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
From a very young age in my heart there has been a burning desire to impact women through my talents and the value that God, my family, life and preparation have given me. Recognizing that we all have a story to tell and we have testimonials to encourage others to grit give up. As a Latina woman, it burns in my heart every day the desire to be an answer to each woman through my talent, what I do, which is to highlight external beauty and also creating a line of handmade hair care products where I can not only highlight their beauty, but be a continuous response in the care of their hair.
In addition, I am passionate about being able to know that not only I can contribute to their outside beauty , but I can positively influence the inner beauty of that woman and be a response to their life, impulse, motivation, to make them understand their value, their beauty. , her ability to be better and not give up, since my process has not been easy, but my tenacity and perseverance have allowed me to continue.
I want people to remember as women that was brave, was passionate about she does, what she believes and that giving up is not an answer, is the strength to go for more. A women that brings life everywhere she goes and always has a word of affirmation to any person she meets. A warrior…
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Well, I started at the age of 9 years old working in a little salon that was around my house making $5 per week, back there in PR. I grew up without a father, so knowing that my mom was a single mom with 3 daughters, working 3 jobs at the time, I knew I need to help her and myself to sustain the house. Of course, there was a women who inspired me to love the beauty industry and that complements everything. She was the one who hire me in her salon since that age. With the years and kept learning and developing my skills until I get to college. At the same time that I was doing my Bachelors Degree in education, which I completed, I studied cosmetology on Saturday. Still working in the salon few days a week, going to college and studying at the same time. My passion grew and I kept taking advanced education and specializing myself not only in hair, but makeup, bridal industry and of course the passion to help women to restore their hair. Been working so many years and seeing the necessity of having good and clean products I got the desire to study natural cosmetic and create my own products to repair the hair and make it grow. That was when I created My Nait Handmade Hair Products, to be a response for many women and their hair. Of course, in the process I started working I different salons, then while I was teaching, I work as a Mobile Beauty for several years and finally I open my Salon Suite about a year ago. My handmade products borned about 3 years and has been a blessing to so many women. In the process have been a lot of tears, rejection, hard path, investment, several nights without sleeping, bullying from others, as a latina been rejected for others, but God always has been there and has given me the tenacity to not give up. I have more goals and dreams and I look forward to reach thousands through what I do and what I offer.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to go is a Tea Place. I am a tea lover and I think that is perfect to take your friends because the environment invite you to. It is a great atmosphere that inspires to get connected and talk about life, goals and just vent. Definitely, Kixi Cafe in Boca Raton, Fl is my favorite, is fresh, kind of fancy, but not pricey, very girly and just beautiful. All their menu is amazing, their waffles, yummy and the ves their Chai Tee with almond milk.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to recognize first of all, God, who is the one that give me the strength and wisdom to fight and accomplish any goals on my way, He is the love of my life and the one who gives purpose to my life. Secondly, my husband which is my best friend and first supporter, my two beautiful daughters, who are my motor and inspiration in everything I do and for sure my family and those loyal friends that have been there every step of my journey, believing in me, wiping off the tears and laughing loud of my accomplishments.
