We had the good fortune of connecting with Pedro Escobedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pedro, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I did not intentionally pursued my artistic career, it was more something that occurred naturally. For most of my life, I never really considered myself as an artist, I self-taught myself graphic design since the age of 12, with the plan of pursuing a YouTube career focusing in creating tech tutorials for the public. I learned design software to create a professional image. My main plan after graduating from high school was to get a career in tech and I was focusing into learning programming, data science/machine learning when an opportunity to get a graphic design role appeared and I took it. At the same time, the NFT world was booming and I got inspired by an artist named Beeple, I saw his work and his commitment to create art daily. With my design skills, I decided to start an NFT journey because I knew that I was capable to create good designs that later became art. My art flows naturally, as I am expressing a part of myself, how I think and see the world. Every NFT that I create has philosophy and messages that I am trying to convey, about life, the future, technology and the unknown. I’ve gained thousands of followers ever since I started creating art, and I now have committed myself to keep creating art for the rest of my life. The way I see my art is that I am leaving a trace of who I am and if I can impact people with my art messagings, I would feel that I am fulfilling a purpose.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art contains a lot of symbolism that I include based on how I see the world, and I am a tech/sci-fi fan that likes to include always a side of technology in my art. My art is very variable and I create many different styles, with always some meaning behind every single piece of art that it has a meaning for me but can lead to different interpretations. I love the cyberpunk aesthetic, marbles, and colors that give my art life and meaning. My art covers topics of humanity, technology, mental health, career life, love, controversial topics and the unknown.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the beach, it is a place that will never get boring, it is a place to enjoy, relax, think deep, to converse, enjoy nature, etc. Food around the beach is usually very good, but I would like to stay with some good mexican food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to recognize my father, his image and teachings let me to where I am today. I lost my father at the age of 11 years old, but his teachings, wisdom and example will always remain with me. My dad was a lawyer, with his own practice, he set up an example that I can also be my own boss and decide for my life. He came from nothing, without food on the table and became a respectable lawyer. After his departure, we lost it all, but I never lost his presence in me. Up to this day, he still inspires me as a professional, as a man, and as a human. I grew up thinking men were like him, but after the years passed I realized the treasure he was, and what an outstanding man he was for his family. He was a respectable lawyer, father, husband, brother, son, and human being.
