We had the good fortune of connecting with Leticia Nobell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leticia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For the past 20 + years I have been leading my own own business in Brazil and the US, Leticia Nobell Architects, focused on high end retail projects of our own design, besides working in collaboration with international brands, such as Dolce & Gabbana, MAC, Chanel, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Kate Spade, Seven for all Mankind, Clinique, Starbucks, Jo Malone, and others.

I believe that creating and collaborating in design is the key to success, where each project must have unique characteristics. The concept design should not be the representation of my own taste, it must be the combination of both the client’s and mine point of view for that particular project. When we combine different repertories we take design to a different level, culturally and creatively speaking.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been working as an architect for 20 + years, I am really proud of my journey, I left the love and comfort of my home just after graduating, so I could work in a more challenging environment, with 22 years of age I moved from my calm hometown Curitiba to the big and exciting Rio de Janeiro, working together with a General Contractor, we delivered 36 retail spaces in less than 3 years, with those projects launched I made a portfolio and decided it was time for bigger challenges.

In 1998, I moved to New York, where I started working as an Architect at HLW, developing projects in the retail and sports area, with special emphasis on the Equinox Health Clubs, known and awarded by their design. In 2000, I was hired by the multinational Arquitectonica, I moved back to Brazil and started working in São Paulo, developing projects for the LVMH Group – Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior. Nowadays I carry out a number of more than 350 commercial and residential projects in Brazil, Latin and North America.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I leave in the beautiful Boca Raton, were life can be calm and peaceful, but surrounded with great parks and beaches, also close to Delray and Palm Beach, where some of my favorite restaurants and bars are located. First day in Boca I would recommend a visit to The Plaza Real at Mizner Park, with many nice restaurants and boutiques, favorite spots: Loch Bar, Calaveras and Sugar Boo. The Museum of Modern Art, also located at Mizner Park, is a great place to visit. Second day, Delray Beach, walking and sightseeing Atlantic Ave, having lunch at Lion Fish, followed by shopping and visiting art galleries, for a great happy hour on The Rosewater Rooftop at The Ray Hotel is a must! Other great restaurants at the same hotel: Ember Grill and Akira Back. Third day, walking down Palmetto Park, towards South Beach and just spending time at the beach, followed by lunch at Luff’s Fish House, next stop would be The Royal Palm Place for a coffee at Saquella or Kixi Cafe, both great options! Fourth day, biking to Sugar Sand Park and Swim and Racquet Club, two of my favorite parks in Boca, dinner by the water at Houston’s – Pompano Beach. Fifth day, driving the Intercostal towards Palm Beach, for a fancy shopping experience: Worth Avenue and afterwards I would definitely suggest a dining experience at The Breakers, with its beautiful architecture and memorable landscape. Sixth day, I would rent a boat and enjoy the beautiful coast of Boca Raton and surroundings. Seventh day, relax at Spanish River and Red Reef Park and Beach.
