We had the good fortune of connecting with Roman / Ernesto Trovato / Pesaola and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roman / Ernesto, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I (Roman Trovato) and my partner Ernesto Pesaola are passionate about sailing, He in Uruguay and I in Argentina already had 20 years of experience on the water. When we moved to the USA in 2019 we did not hesitate to turn our passion into a business. This is how we created Flamingo Boat Rental
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We started little by little, with two small boats, we studied and took courses in the Coast Guard to have everything in order as required by law. On the other hand, we started a campaign promoting the brand on Instagram through different influencers or well-known people. little by little we grew and added larger boats, reaching today a fleet that goes from 64 feet to 34 feet and already with more than 1000 boat charters made. Our greatest effort is based on the maintenance of the boats and customer service
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Undoubtedly if you are young people the fun is in Haulover Sandbar, where boats come together every day to enjoy the water, the sun and good music. If you are older people, we recommend a trip to Fort Lauderdale, visiting the New River where you can stop to eat in the very good restaurants on its coast.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Since we are both passionate about sailing and everything that has to do with the sea. We are very supportive of each other to move forward and become a truly profitable company today. This was not easy since we both came from other countries
