We had the good fortune of connecting with Gia Pepe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel like risk itself is all fear based. Whether we should color inside the lines or break free from the illusion that everything has to be done a certain way.

Taking risks never scared me as a child, I enjoyed challenging myself but as i grew up & had my own family i became stagnant to the corporate world, working just to pay my bills but i wasn’t happy. I always felt caged in a office and like i wasn’t living my life to my fullest potential but owning my own business was a dream and i had to make a decision whether i was going to let fear dictate my future or not.
Taking this risk meant i had to question myself if i was good enough & i came to the realization that – A. I could continue to work for other people n be unfulfilled forever or B. Take the risk see how amazing this journey can be!

And as you can tell … i chose option B

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a photographer located in Fort Lauderdale FL and service the tri county of broward county, dade county & palm beach county. I specialize in portrait, lifestyle & candid photography for families, couples, elopements, birthday parties/ events, milestones & much more!
What sets me apart from others is my passion for my creativity, i do not see other local photographers as competition but i do see them as more opportunity.
I also don’t think of my business as a job because of how much i truly enjoy what i do. I get to be in control of my own destiny & success n i could never think of anything else I’d rather do
A major perk of my industry is my clients because i get to meet so many amazing people & families along the way.
My journey being a photographer wasn’t easy. navigating through this industry, investing in the education & gaining the clientele was an uphill climb and still is at times but none of these obstacles i allowed to set me back, i stay positive and true myself. On occasion i have to remind myself that my business became what It is today because i love what i do and i want to make a difference for my clients.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way are to never lose sight of why you started & never stop learning so you can continue to grow.
Being in the photography world is constant keeping up with the trends of what people want and like.

What i want people to know about better together creative media is my story begins with your smile
Creating something as timeless as a photograph that will be shared for many generations to come is priceless.
Social media is only the surface but to walk in your home and have my images displayed in frames or hung up on walls
Or even flipping through that photograph album with your family / kids is the reason i do this.
A photograph is the only way to make time stop even if it’s just for a second.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite thing to do is be outdoors whether we go out on the boat and enjoy some sun or head down to the beach. The water brings me so much peace! I would recommend checking out some fun activities like jet skiing & dining At restaurants

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like recognize my beautiful children because i would never be where i am today without them, they are a constant reminder for me to never give up. As well as my wonderful partner, as he has always motivated & encouraged me to follow my dreams.
To all my family & friends who taught me what unconditional love truly was.

And i could never forget thanking all my clients for supporting me along the way!
