We had the good fortune of connecting with Allan Lazher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our goal with Nenne’s Music School is to inspire kids to discover the magical world of music and the arts. To create a special space where they can grow as musicians and artists. Help them thru the transformative power of music to become good humans.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We started our music project 13 years ago. It has been a long and winding road, but when you love what you do it always feels like play. We believe the world can be a better place if every child can play a musical instrument. Music teaches us basic life skills such as discipline, focus, working hard, persistence, appreciation for nature and the arts among many others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens has become one of my favorite places. Visiting it It’s like going back in time in a time capsule. It’s beautiful architecture and gardens make it truly magical. For lunch I would taken them to La Carreta restaurant, or Versailles restaurant for a taste of our authentic Cuban food. And for dessert we would go to Azucar ice cream. Then, head to south beach for a symphony concert at the New World Center, or any live music happening in Miami Beach Bandshell.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank all my music teachers, specially Irina Gorin and Marc Douyon. They’ve made a better musician, while enjoying the process, and the tools to be able to share it with others. Also for teaching me that in order to be a great leader and teacher you have to become a great human being too. Success always starts with you!
