We had the good fortune of connecting with Gary Palis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gary, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Being an entrepreneur is a dream for most people as you have the control and decision making of everything that the business will do. Of course this is both good and bad as there is a fair amount of learning during this process and paying attention to detail is critical.
Simply Golf was designed for our customer, the golfer. With the little significant details, we strive to make that experience beneficial and enjoyable for every person or group that walks thru our doors or visits our website.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Simply put – Simply Golf’s main objective is the Customer Experience. When this works -good things happen for the customer and the business.
What sets us apart ? We pay attention to the details:
– the appearance of our business – it neat, clean and organized and looks as new as the day we opened
– we focus on the customer while they are there – can we help you, is everything ok, etc
– we make sure everything works and is functioning perfectly , we use a lot of technology
Putting the customer first should be first and foremost in all business’ today but that is not always the case. At Simply Golf, this has always been the top priority and will continue to be the top priority and that is a big reason for our success as a business and in the community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend which we have had, I would certainly take them for physical activities which would include golfing, ocean snorkeling, kayaking, biking and the ever popular pickleball. We would do something everyday and start our morning with some light exercise such as walking or biking and then play some golf in the afternoon.
Of course the above it will depend on how active my visiting friend is, but the beauty is that there is a tremendous amount of activities you can enjoy when the weather is good and not so good. You can bite off as much as you want. There is nothing wrong with relaxing on the beach also.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Simply Golf creation was the brainchild of Randy Palis. He was a decent golfer and wanted to get better. He researched and met with local business, realtors and people in the community. He felt and pushed and finally found a great spot in a high traffic area that had the right demographic. He has great initiative and has the right personality and attitude as it comes to “customer first” and caring when formulating the business setup.
Our staff, A. Lee and Bob are perfect examples of people that truly care about the customer and their experience when they visit Simply Golf. They want them to be the best and go overboard to make sure that happens.
Golf is a popular sport and most people can play or at least swing a club. The enthusiasm of the Simply Golf Team is to make the customer better and find the right equipment for that individual so they can have an enjoyable experience when playing the game.
Finally we believe that our customers are the best marketing and sales force that we have. Their experience is important and this is what helps our local business succeed and grow. We have now expanded into other services including group activities, social events, club fitting, club repair and physical training aids to help the customers experience and growth.
