We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcano Sax and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcano, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing I have done as a parent is maintaining a healthy work life balance. I’m an ARTrepreneur. My work includes making music, producing media, and operating a non-profit organization. As a parent, it is priority that the things that I do for work are an inspiration to my daughter. I am her biggest role model. So, the music I make and the content I make reflect the values that we uphold in our home. I teach my daughter education, peace, love, and respect. These things are important to enjoying life. I am an example for her that you can make a living doing the things you love and make a difference in the lives of other people.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Lyndon Gray, aka Marcano Sax is a performing artist from Kansas City Missouri. He has been playing saxophone since age 9, and he has developed a melodic sound with hip hop, live instrumentation, and lyrics exploring uncharted territory. He learned to play saxophone by ear under the instruction of Jazz Hero, Gerald Dunn. He has mastered creating music that defies industry set boundaries for style, song length, and concepts. Marcano Sax has performed across the Midwest, East Coast, and is currently exploring his South Florida home base. Marcano Sax leverages his music and an entrepreneurial spirit to connect his brand with new audiences. He graduated from Howard University with a major concentration in Media Production and a minor in Business Administration. His experience includes iHeart Media, Sirius XM radio, KSHE 95, 105.7 The point, and Hot 97 in New York as Angie Martinez assistant. In Washington DC, 2009, Marcano Sax began to build his brands, Erace The Hate and Eracism Clothing. Eracism is a clothing line promoting social awareness and equality. Erace The Hate is a non-profit media company focused on using content creation and curation to demonstrate the concept of Eracism.
An advocate for the social enterprise model, Marcano Sax brand Eracism donates proceeds to support community programming provided by Erace The Hate. In 2018, Erace The Hate launched the ARTrepreneur 101 program teaching media production and basic entrepreneurship as STEAM enrichment for inner-city youth. As a founder of the Erace The Hate, Marcano Sax uses media production to teach students brand development, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. Establishing great relationships with some of Miami’s world changers, Marcano Sax has found a unique way to apply his diverse skillsets to better serve the community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Everyone that visits the area wants to go to South Beach, but I’ve found Miami’s gems are on the other side of the bridge. I would start our week’s excursion with a sunrise on Hollywood, Beach. This is where I lived when I first got to South Florida. After meditation and a morning swim, we would have breakfast along the boardwalk. Let’s get the shopping out of the way early. I would spend the day at Aventura Mall, exploring the fashion and getting the wardrobe together for the week. The remainder of the week’s events would include lots of good food, plenty of sun, and connecting with the dope people I’ve met since moving here.
Some of my favorite restaurants:

Can’t say the specific order, but these would all be on my list of stops with my best friend in town.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shortly after my transition to South Florida, I was introduced to Dr. Bernard “Dr. B.” Ashby. Dr. Bernard is a vascular cardiologist from Miami, Florida. He renowned for his work in medicine, and he also has a passion for serving inner city youth. We connected because of a shared interest in using media and arts to provide a positive out outlet to underserved communities. Dr. B has been an amazing friend, mentor, and he even supported our organization, Erace The Hate, by providing a studio for delivering the ARTrepreneur 101 youth development program. Dr. B now runs his own medical practice and makes frequent media appearances on local, national, and international media outlets.
