We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Jigstyle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from The Bronx, NY, but started my career in Entertainment in south Florida. I started dancing in high school & once I started traveling with my performance, that lead me to want to use my voice as a singer. I have always loved music and grew up around it. From my mother being a singer & Father playing the guitar in the church, I was bound to have an ear for music. Taught my self how to sing by playing the piano by ear.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an update towards what I have going on now, I am currently in promo mode. For the Year of 2023, I’m doing a project called “Project 23.” I have decided to do something a bit different. I am releasing a new song off the project on the 23rd of each month with a visual, for 12 months. This will not only show how hard I work on my craft but also show sacrifice with longer promo time -to- consistency in staying in peoples faces constantly. This brings me hope that either one song can be the song that changes my life dramatically or build a stronger Fan-base. In addition, this pushes me to promote through my Dancing Showcases and Battles as well, to bring awareness to “Project 23.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some places I would take my visitors or out of town friends to for example, is the beach. Although I’m used to the beach and sunny weather, they may have never seen anything like that where they’re from. Another great spot, is in Wynwood, Miami.
Great bars and clubs and space for people to dance.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are plenty of people that most influenced me. Would first have to start off with “me.” I had to build my own courage to even take a leap of faith and believe that I have talent and can over come nae-sayers. Turn them from a non-believer to a believer.

Next, I would have to shoutout my old Dance crews “Fatal Aggression” & “Hard Knox Crew bka ArtFormaz” for showing me what it is like to have a family dance crew that have the same passion that I did and how to move as a unit.

Lastly, certain entertainers such as Ryan Leslie, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and Pharrell of the Neptunes, as far as beat productions goes.
In regards to artists, Chris Brown, Omarion, Ginuwine, missy Elliot, Justin Timberlake, & Ciara.
In regards to dancers, a Japanese dancer name “Kite,” American Dancer name “Slim Boogie,” “Popping Taco, Skeeter Rabbit, Mr. Wiggles, etc.
My biggest inspiration of all, is Michael Jackson
