Hi Tautvydas, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think that taking risks can be challenging and tough sometimes. You can always doubt taking them, but when you create a goal, believe in yourself and make the steps to achieve your goals, that is when you will see the biggest change and rewards. Yes, sometimes you might not see meet the expectations you wanted to meet, but even then you learn from your mistakes and are more likely to reach your goals. I have always believed in myself and my ideas and have reached my goals sooner or later. Ultimately I believe that taking risks is the best thing that you can do

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
BIG FOOT FLOORS is a company that specialises in high end wood, that could be used for indoor /outdoor flooring, wall panels, and furniture. We make different, unique and customised prints for our clients. A lot of people may ask: “what is it that makes our wood so special?”. We mainly work with a rare and fascinating wood called Bog Oak. It’s a naturally dark coloured wood, that lays under water for thousands of years, that is how it changes it’s colour from a light oak to a rich dark coloured oak. To make sure that the we carry out the most exceptional wishes and most individual requirements for our customers, I spend a lot of time working on my team. .

I have built a reputation of timeless craftsmanship through the everyday commitment of our employees. By investing time into the staff I have trained a workforce of craftsmen with an average tenure of 16 years within the company. Our services stand for highest quality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in Lithuania is Trakai. It’s a small historic town and a lake resort. Trakai has a castle that is famous for its gothic architecture and its special location – it stands on an island on Lake Galve, one of the deepest lakes in Lithuania. The view of the historic structure is straight out of a fairy tale. There are a number of architectural, cultural and historical monuments in Trakai. In the summer there are medieval festivals as well as various events and concerts in the castle’s courtyard. The atmosphere in Trakai is what really made me fall in love with it. Trakai has amazing traditional lithuanian food, great people and overall carries an amazing energy. I would recommend that everyone would come and visit this place if they have the opportunity.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I was always surrounded by nature and trees, that really formed my creative mind. And with that came a lot of ideas of what I could do with wood. I started playing around with different types of woods, patterns and colours. And during this time I really fell in love with the process of making new and different designs. After some time, my designs got attention from people. The clients I have worked for over the years had always looked for something different. And I guess, I was what they were looking for. I am so honoured that I am able to fulfil other peoples wishes and make their dream homes come to life. Overall, I would say that nature it self made me discover my creative side. And that creative side led to me handcrafting these amazing and unique floors.
